Aren't you making a whole lot of assumptions here which are not backed up by the thousands of doomsday posts by you and others on this board? We see post after post re people losing their insurance and can't afford higher policies yet you're stating as fact that people who lost their insurance have repurchased insurance.
i don't know how many have PURCHASED new insurance yet. my plan was outlawed, but i have insurance until 12/31/13 and i haven't made a decision on what i'm going to do yet. i assume lots of others are in the same boat. that doesn't mean we have 0 information about pricing for potential plans
And are you saying its impossible to purchase a plan 6 weeks in advance? Seems a bit ridic.
no the insurance companies cannot just re-create these plans within 6 weeks, because they have to renegotiate all sorts of contracts with providers. that's why these plans are a lie: those plans cannot just magically appear. the system has changed and the market has responded to the incentives and bans due to federal law
A bunch of hacks using the the problems of people losing their insurance as a reason to bash the president and who are furious because McCain and others want to fix the problem.
mccain cannot fix the problem in this manner
the only way they could is by legislating that all insurance companies are mandated to re-instate and re-offer these plans, which would be chaos in the market
How dare McCain attempt to alleviate a problem
he's just passing new legislation that does nothing to alleviate the actual problem. that's the point
it's symbolic legislation
the problem is the ACA. if you want to fix the problem, you have to get into the nuts/bolts of the law itself
Personally I've been against the ACA and one reason is I think people should be able to buy their own shitty policy.
or my amazing policy...that is now illegal
Here we have a proposal to allow this and you people bitch.
my policy ain't coming back
