Russian Subways Now Accept Squats for Payment

LINK

quote:

If you live in Moscow, your morning commute can now include a brief fitness session.

To promote the upcoming 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, subway stations in Moscow have added these impressive new machines which allow passengers to do 30 squats for a train ticket.

It's a little like how you used your Wii Fit that first week after Christmas, but with an actual reward. This machine can also tell if you're cheating, unlike the couch calisthenics you can get away with at home.

In America fat and disabled people would sue for discrimination and these would be scrapped immediately.

Sad country we live in.

too bad it would never work here-----it wouldn't last 5min before someone threw out the terms "discriminatory," "racist," or something else along those lines

dont think that would work

it is essentially a physical coupon. you can still pay to ride the train

i think a bigger issue would be not enough machines leading to long lines and people missing trains

if fat people couldnt fit in them and disabled people couldnt do squats then those things facially discriminate against both of those groups. it puts too much burden on them having to pay while fit able bodied people can ride for free.

They'd be gone in a week.

No doubt.

I get what you're saying, but now days it seems they throw out racism for every little thing (voter id or disagreeing with the president for example)

someone would claim discrimination because they are too fat to do squats.

I could make it work while killing two birds with one stone.

first bird: fight the obesity epidemic one squat at a time
second bird: tie the machine to the engine and without going into too much detail (i can if need be), convert the energy from the squat machine to a source of energy that puts some relief on natural resources…

didn't click link so if thats what they're doing then i apologize.

That's the problem with this country. You have to bow down and cater to people and their feelings. People are abusing their rights and the constitution. This type of pussification is not what America's founding fathers had in mind.
