Only a matter of time when LSU will rename Kirby Smith.

Or NOLA will rename Robert E Lee Blvd. And Jeff Davis Pkwy.

Because going away from 'ole Miss' will magically erase the entire history of slavery from our nation's past

Yeah, why the hell Ole Miss has kept a building named after him is beyond me.

It's one thing to name a structure with someone who has made a great contribution to society, yet has personal flaws (such as racism), and quite another to name one after a man whose claim to fame is being 'the Great White Chief'.

If it was up to the Ole Miss students, they would still be waiving confederate flags at games.

I don't give two fricks what they think.

Yeah it goes simply beyond "this man was racist." Hell, Bear Bryant was racist, but at least he made significant contributions to his institution.

From what I can tell, Vardaman is only famous for being virulently racist.

This is tradition that needs to be preserved. Negroes are pussies. They should've lynched back.

Wow. I certainly wouldn't want a building named after him at the school I attend.

Yeah, I don't really like all the PC stuff, but Ole Miss makes themselves hard to root for.

I'm not opposed to the name "rebels," waving confederate flags, etc., but you shouldn't have buildings named after people like that.

I live in MS, and nothing is more awkward than listening to U of Miss grads justify keeping shite like that.

Maybe LSU should name a building after Mark Essex or someone, I'm sure you'd feel the same way then
