The iPod I've had since late 2008 just died on me. After talking to an Apple hipster in my class I learned that the only iPod model you're supposed to run with is the shuffle because it doesn't have a standard hard drive that can get messed up bouncing around. Is this true? I'd rather get a standard iPod but I do want to run with it too.
ETA: I've got a smartphone loaded with music but I don't want to run with it and risk dropping it.
