re: Louisiana Bar Examination - Judgment Day Came and Left

Just got my letter in. Missed it by 6 points. I'd rather fail by 40.

Jesus. I have a good friend that failed by...one point. I agree I'd rather fail by 40.

If they kept the required passage percentage at 70% like it was forever it would be in line with historical norms.

I just started laughing when I opened the letter. Six points out of 900.

I imagine being that close added a little sting to the news.

Nah, the news stung enough without knowing how close I was.

I'm going to sulk for another week or so and then I'll get back on the horse.

And I'll always remember six points.

I guess that is the silver lining in the six points deal.

One or two different answers over the course of the week and this doesn't happen

You'll get it next time. Some of the best lawyers in the nation didn't pass it the first time.

I agree. Good news is I didn't lose my job. Some people failed and got fired. I'd go on a long binge if that happened to me.

Yeah that would make for one shitty weekend. I'm sure Bitter would have hired you as a personal assistant though.

Bill shite. Whether you pass or fail a Bar Exam on the first try is not determinative of the type of attorney you are.

This will be behind you soon.

I know you really don't care, but I have to tell someone this.

The first five sections are weighed at 1.2 times the point value.

Literally, I would have passed if I would have gotten one more multiple choice question right on one of those five sections.
