Louisiana Bar Examination - Judgment Day Came and Left

Anyone else hating the waiting game?

By the way, rumor (from two separate sources in the know) has it the overall passage rate is 51%.

yeah, with the profession overwhelmed by numbers, and the complete inability to get the 4 state law schools to limit or restrict numbers, one can expect some form of limitation somewhere. I still find 51% unbelievably low.

I have my doubts on that number.

The first test under this systems was 20 points higher (can't remember what). The February rate was putrid, but I expected that.

I'm just hoping my fiancee has the same request I did when I passed the bar.

I wish her the best of luck. If she doesn't make it, you can breath a slight sigh of relieve knowing your still the man.

God knows, don't make a joke if she doesn't.

Either way, I won't want to be at work.

I had doubts too...until I heard the same number from a completely unrelated source with plausible connections.

61% the first time they used this new system. Feb was like 40 :puke:

Let's average 180 students per graduating class per law school (lsu law was 223 in 2012)

That's 720 new lawyers per year dumped into the legal heap. 720 that can ONLY practice law in Louisiana. Now multiply that for 10 years, for example. That would be 7200 lawyers entering the world. Nah, no over saturation there.

No way it's that low

Results are out at 9, right? Either way, I advise starting your drinking at about 9:30 (after you've clicked refresh 500,000 times to an overloaded server)

I'm glad I took it under the old system. Either the test is harder, the grading is harder, or the new (wannabe) attorneys are just dumber.

In any manner, I don't have to deal with it, bro.

I'd have to look the numbers up. That seems pretty high. Your assuming that all them pass as soon as they get out too.

That's simply not true.

All 3 schools offer common law curriculums, and you'd be surprised how many out-of-staters go to law school in Louisiana.

Are you certain? My wife graduated from LSU Law and has to take the bar in Texas if she wanted to practice there.

Well, i guess they can't only practice in Louisiana, but they'd have to pay to take a seperate bar out of state. The LA bar doesn't go past state lines, except for in DC
