I didn't say our rushing average was better, I said our performance. Our 31, 38 and 26 point games are better than the 16 we barely scored against Tampa and 23 we scored on Atlanta. If you can't watch the offense and see it's better the last three games, I don't know what to tell you.

Is this serious?

as serious as your love for below average running backs.

That's some fairly shallow analysis you just shoehorned to make your point. Tons of stuff you're ignoring to reach your conclusion. For starters: Brees threw 3 interceptions in the first two games versus just 1 in the last three.

I hate to agree with these guys, but you can't say we score more points without Ingram if the yards per carry haven't changed.

There has to be something else.

My guess would be throwing to RBs.

I don't think without ingram we played THAT much better. I think our weak link on the line is healthy and we exploited defenses based on our personnel. sproles trolled miami, but was barely used against chicago. pierre has his usualy breakout game against chicago, but we saw no sproles.

Tampa's defense isn't actually bad and their run defense was ranked #1 last year (wet field and away game). Atlanta always plays us tough and it was obvious that jahri was hurt bad. arizona we abandoned the run completely until the game was pretty much over and no one cared. miami's run defense is worse compared to atlanta and tampa's.

we straight up ingram'd through chicago, rushing wise

The kind of stat that completely ignores field position, kick returns, turnovers, etc. It's the kind of joke analysis I've come to expect from you.

But you're right, Ingram is directly responsible for 12 points per game

This has a lot to do with it I think. Ingram is not dynamic at all and the one area where he should be great, (short yardage situations) he is ineffective.

Our other RBs may not be better rushers than Ingram but they are certainly better at everything else you'd ask a running back to do.

I'm not really basing it on numbers. I doubt the numbers even support me. And we've almost abandoned the run and that worries me a lot. And I'm not saying Ingram is a bad player or anything either.

I'm just saying that the offense is clicking better now than it was against Atlanta and Tampa.

Does anyone disagree?

Yes because CSP is not forcing a losing game plan that has MI rushing more.

Sproles and PT can both run, catch and be allusive.
2 of the 3 MI hasn't shown he can do. Without him CSP is better able to call a game and SCORE MORE POINTS.

Real question, are you actually watching the games? We averaged 24.5 runs the first two games, and 25.3 in the last 3.

And as far as percentage of plays, we rushed at the following percentages:

45.3
30.3
34.2
38.0
44.4

So yea, you're right. The numbers don't back anything you say up at all.

We rushed just as much in the last game without him as the first game with him, and our average rushes per game is basically equal.

CSP is still using the same game plan.

You guys are just so blinded by Ingram hate that you aren't looking at anything objectively.

ETA: Just so you can see the numbers.

Rush Pass
29 35
20 46
24 46
24 39
28 35

You can't look at those numbers and say Ingram's availability has influenced the play calling. There is no correlation for that.

I'm sure that made sense in your mind, but oh well. Got anything other than a number affected by a million variables to refute me?

all numbers are refuted by variables
all ingrams are refuted by opposition.

See, I was right about that too!

And we've been running the ball at the end of games now instead of forcing it at the begining of games.

Do you disagree that the offense has played better against Arizona, Chicago and Miami than we did against Atlanta and Tampa?

if you run a non-biased statistical comparison, you will see numbers generated that aren't associated with any ingramisms.

No, but I'm not going to say one running back not being active is the reason for that.

Well when you're winning by 2 scores or more, you generally tend to run to wind down the clock, so that's not really saying much.
