Yeah. They've basically had identical numbers though.

I just brought it up because of the Bama connection and the fact that one guy gets talked about like a clear bust and the other like he's a future all pro

So what you are saying is, our first round RB took two seasons to eclipse the 1,000 mark.

Imagine.

And he was traded for a first round pick.

Just because, career numbers:

Richardson - 298 carries for 1055 yds. 3.5 ypc 11 tds

Ingram - 295 carries for 1107 yds. 3.8 ypc 10 tds

Let's throw in receiving numbers also though.

RIchardson 58 receptions 418 yds

Ingram 17 receptions 75 yards

Ingram has also been on a better team. Richardson will likely look better in Indy.

re: Trent Richardson traded to Indianapolis....

I'm not a big Ingram supporter, but I think eyeran's point is the YPC.

Ingram doesn't call plays. Who knows? Maybe if he had the number of carries Richardson had in his first season, he would have gone over 1000.

Obviously there's a lot of variables, but it is interesting that the one with the higher YPC is the one who is commonly portrayed as the worst RB in the NFL by this board.

Ingram's been incredibly shitty. Richardson's arguably been worse.(2 runs over 20 yards in his career)

Point that out and people act like you're arguing to put Ingram in the HOF.

I expected that though. He's public enemy #1 right now.

Maybe I'll finally get some fantasy points from Richardson now.

At least Richardson can break tackles and get into the endzone.

I'm pretty sure that if they traded situations, their numbers wouldn't be so similar.

Ingram for a 3rd pick would be sweet, but take a look at what the Browns are doing. Looking to get a Bridgwater or Manziel. Also can get a WR in the first round. Good move IMO.

To me, Richardson is not worth a 1st. He and Ingram were a function of the Alabama offense and huge OLine. Is there another stupid team willing to give up a #3 for Ingram?

Agree these guys passed up on RG3, now they realize a RB is not a way to build a franchise. Michael Lombardi is looking for a franchise QB. Lets be truthfull this is a tank job.

Plus they went from Weeden to Brian Hoyer when Jason Campbell was their backup. They don't want to win. Campbell is a mediocre QB but better than both Weeden and Hoyer

A first rounder for a guy that probably only adds a win or two to their total, at best, is pretty good imo.

re: Trent Richardson traded to Indianapolis....

I think Cleveland made a really smart decision. Richardson has not looked like a franchise-carrying running back. He's not in the same mold as an Adrian Peterson, who is literally the only franchise-carrying running back in the league. You just don't need to use a 1st rounder on a RB anymore.

Another argument you could make is one about Alabama running backs. They carry the ball so much and so hard in college that by the time they get to the league, they're on the downside of their careers physically. Ingram had a knee issue and toe troubles coming in. Richardson had knee/leg problems coming in. Eddie Lacy had questions about his toe being fused together.

The Browns arguably got much more than Richardson was really worth.

Maybe a chance to unite two Bama boys in Indy!

Loomis work a deal.

They gave up a 4th, 5th, and 7th for him (traded 1st with 'sota). They could have drafted so many other players. Never trade up for a RB
