1/2 of Obamacare Deadlines Missed Thus Far; Retailer doing away with FT

quote:

As of May 31, 2013, when the CRS analysis was completed, the White House had yet to meet 9 of 12 deadlines from the first year after the Affordable Care Act was enacted. It failed to meet 22 of 53 deadlines in the second year; another 8 became moot after Congress did not appropriate funds to complete the assigned tasks. In year three, the administration missed 10 out of 17 deadlines. That’s a total of 41 out of 82 deadlines missed.

If you exclude the 9 deadlines that became moot because Congress never appropriated the funds to meet them, the Obama administration missed 41 out of 73 deadlines, or 56 percent.

In analyzing the CRS report, I erred on the side of generosity. If the administration missed a particular statutory deadline by a week or less, I counted it in their favor as a “met” deadline. In any case where there was ambiguity in the CRS report, I assumed that the administration had met the deadline. So these 50-56 percent missed deadline figures should be seen as slightly conservative.

The predictions and fears of the Affordable Care Act’s adversaries have begun to materialize, specifically fears that the law will encourage employers to demote their employees to part-time positions in order to evade federal health care requirements. Popular clothing company Forever 21 is the first of what might be many companies to limit its non-management workers’ hours to 29.5 a week, just below the 30-hour minimum that the ACA deems full-time work.

Explaining that the company “recently audited its staffing levels, staffing needs, and payroll in conjunction with reviewing its overall operating budget,” Associate Director of Human Resources Carla Macias informed employees that effective August 31, they will no longer be full-time employees of Forever 21.

And now the Chi-Trib is beginning to call for a halt to this legislation.... O better get his boy Rham on the phone and have these people raided by the local PD. We cannot have dissent in his city

This is failure to execute his office. It should be a terminable offense.

There is no doubt in my mind Obama will require the IRS (via EO if necessary) to unilaterally ignore the 30 hour minimum requirement by saying if a company changes an employee's hours to avoid ACA coverage, the employee will be deemed "full time" regardless of the number of hours his new schedule requires.

The left doesn't care that he isn't doing his job... They will support him no matter what happens.

Yep, Sebelius already came out and said that that if you cut hours, they will just total up how many "full-time" employees you would have by adding together hours.

That is for the 50 person requirement, not the 30 hours = full time requirement.

I see where you were going. So you think they'll just count people as full-time if they were full time before the cutbacks?

That might be a tough sell.

Yes, if they can come even close to proving the change in hours was to avoid complying with the ACA hours requirement.

I think there would be massive lawsuits and there would be no way a court would allow this to happen.

Clearly we need to do away with Obamacare and replace it with single-payer based on this record of success

I don't see how the people in charge are not held accountable for not enacting the legislation that was passed.

They are democrats. Rest assured if this were a republican administration.... The cacophony of complaint would be unignorable.

There is no legal way they can do this, is there? Seems like an extreme overreach by the feds.

Considering the massive incompetency by this administration in handling obamacare. Could the bill be ruled unconstitutional for failing to meet their mandated goals?
