re: Golf Wedges- 58 or 60 degree?

You're chunking it b/c when you are trying to "ease up" you're actually decelerating your club. It's a very common mistake, easily corrected by remembering to accelerate through the shot. If it's a shot with a shorter distance just take a shorter backswing and accelerate through the shot. Problem solved.

This man speaks the truth.

Don't be afraid on chips. You'd rather hit it a little longer onto the green than chunk it a foot and get frustrated. Commit to your shot when chipping.

I'm a hacker but carry

48 - 100-125 yards
53 - gap wedge for 75-100
58 - flops around the green and sand

Learning to score with your 52* and 56* is a lot more beneficial for your game than learning high risk shots, above a 5 handicap (usually). That's what I was trying to get at

This is what I have done lately and I have a lot fewer frick ups around the green and my number of 1-putts per round has increased. I haven't taken the 60* out of my bag in a couple of months.
