There was a hint of sarcasm in there.
But I disagree. His Presidency has been an abject failure, particularly when considering the massive advantage he had in his first two years.
This is a guy who enters Washington with control of Congress and a blank check in the form of the stimulus bill that approached nearly $1T.
He easily could have gone down in the history books as a great American President by taking that check and using it towards real infrastructure products, which likely would have had the joint effect of allowing our economy to recover much more quickly than the current rate. Instead, he promises infrastructure investment, which translates into us getting about 10-12% of the total invested in infrastructure and him using the rest to pay back people who got him elected and pursue liberal wet dreams like the fiasco at Solyndra.
Meanwhile, he pushed through a health care bill that commentators on both the left and right have called a complete disaster and expends nearly all of his political capital in the process, leading to a Republican wave of victories in 2010 and him essentially becoming a 6-yr. lame duck.
He's been in a unique position to make true strides towards improved race relations, but has instead taken the side of the race baiters and opportunists while largely ignoring the true problems which plague the African-American community. Meanwhile, African-American unemployment has soared to unprecedented levels in disproportion to that of the population at large and even that of those from below the border, many of whom haven't even truly assimilated yet.
His willingness to lead, if present in the first place, has been completely thwarted by his complete inability to lead, owing in no small amount to his "gotcha" political tactics which first reared their head literally in his first week in office.
Perhaps most unfortunately, government has seen massive expansion which has been paralleled by an unrivaled loss of freedom for the American people.
I could go on ... and on ... and on and on and on.
If this is a successful Presidency to you, then your bar is entirely too low.
