Rolling Stones and Tsarnaev cover: I don't get the big deal

I wouldn't think twice about this. I can't believe people are making a big deal about it.

I'm being dead serious. Did anyone on here honestly think negatively about this before it became a newsworthy subject? I can understand someone thinking "hrm, that's an odd picture to use", but to extract some sort of offense from it is outrageous.

The only issue I have is that it makes this guy seem like a celebrity.

Agreed. It's fricking stupid.

I agree with Scruffy, as usual

There is nothing wrong with the cover or the article. The young man is infamous, and there is nothing wrong with trying to get all sides of the story.

How so? They literally call him a 'monster' on the front cover.

The point is that they are investigating how a seemingly 'normal' kid (which the cover depicts) can turn into someone so maniacal.

I'd much rather see a picture of him hanging from Fenway's Green Monster than an actual picture of him living.

I think the cover shot makes him look glamorous. I would like to see him in two years when you will be able to drop a coffee can down his bunghole.

I agree, but at the same time, we have these insane individuals in our society who seem to believe the idea that if they commit these atrocities they will become celebrities of a sort and will be remembered (i.e. Colorado theater shooting).

I don't want to stop people from printing articles and pictures like this. I just want people to recognize the problems that may stem from making infamous celebrities out of these individuals.

I think the point was not to make look him glamorous, but nonthreatening. Looking at him in this picture, you probably never would have thought he could be capable of something like the Boston Bombing.

No, I think we've heard enough from him. Hope he is face raped by incarcerated Jews on a daily basis for the rest of his life, and I hope an Irish Catholic inmate takes a shite in food every morning for the rest of his life too.

As long as we have the current media model, they are unfortunately correct in that thinking.

The only issue I see is that rolling stone is smart enough to use our stupid media to get extra advertising

I haven't read the article but would a pic of the dead brother have worked just as well?

I'm just of the opinion that the very existence of these individuals should be erased from human history.

So the magazine has always been full of shite?

Charles Manson was the "most dangerous man alive" in 1970...

Yeah, except for Pol Pot...

...and Nixon and Vietnam...

...Brezhnev...and USSR

...Gaddafi

...Carlos the Jackal...
