320=32

Brees/rodgers et al were hitting 60-80 pts/week

400 yards=40

80

didn't say they averaged 60-80...only that they were hitting those marks

The Cowboys held Miles Austin out of some minicamp practices in order to protect his hamstrings.
Austin was feeling good and wanted to practice, but the Cowboys' trainers were wary of overworking. Austin has dealt with hamstring trouble in each of the last two seasons, in part leading to six games missed and just 58.5 yards per day during that span. This year, he will head to training camp at 100 percent as the No. 3 option in the passing game.

the guy was a 2nd/3rd round draft pick the last few and now he's dropped down to the 8th/9th round.

he had some busted up hammys, i still think he can produce WR2 numbers

The Panthers are de-emphasizing the zone read play under new OC Mike Shula.
During OTAs and minicamps, the Panthers did not practice very many option plays. The franchise wants Cam Newton to make plays from the pocket first and use his legs to create opportunities in the scrambling game. Essentially, Shula is planning on running more of a conventional offense that features base runs to the backs. It's a good thing for Jonathan Stewart and DeAngelo Williams, but it could lead to deflated rushing stats for Newton.

change isn't always good.

The Union-Tribune says Vincent Brown was "just plain spectacular" during OTAs and minicamp.
We can now safely say that the broken ankle that ruined Brown's 2012 season is water under the bridge. And since the Chargers are installing a more precise offense that de-emphasizes the deep ball, Brown has a realistic shot to beat out Malcom Floyd for the starting Z receiver spot. He's a far superior route-runner. Brown has plenty of sleeper appeal in upcoming fantasy drafts.

someone has to catch something in SD..Gates,dead, Floyd, deadish,Meechum, rotten corpse.....give VB him a snag later

quote:

Tight ends coach Mike Pope said there will be chances for Brandon Myers to get vertical in the passing game.
Myers was mostly a safety valve during his breakout campaign in Oakland last year, averaging just 10.2 YPC. "Our passing game does allow the tight end to get more vertically down the field -– flag routes, double seam routes, post routes," Pope said. "And he appears to have the skills to get those balls. He has a little bit of a jet that can accelerate and go get a ball that is a little deeper." We'll believe the plodding Myers can make plays down the field when we see it. For now, he's just a TE2.

He's going off at the 13th TE off the board, so he should be there late for everyone.

Guy was in Oak last year and caught 80% of the balls thrown to him for 79 catches.

Now he's a NYG and is the TE1 there(martalius bennet in CHI now, Balard in New england)
his only competition at the TE spot is bear pascoe who has only 26 catches in 4 years, only 4 catches last year)

depending on preference, frick TE, Bmyers FTW

When Robert Griffin III (ACL, LCL surgery) walks without a brace, he does not limp.
RG3 was spotted limping slightly after some minicamp practices, but it appears that was due to a bulky brace. He raced rookie tight end Jordan Reed last week and won, confirming his long speed has returned. Reed ran a respectable 4.72 forty at the Combine. By all accounts, Griffin is ahead of schedule in his rehab.

currently the 10th off the board who could produce in the top 3...if he falls grab, but don't be the one who reaches.

SI reports "a vehicle rented in (Hernandez's) name has emerged as a key piece of evidence in the investigation." The body of a 27-year-old Boston man was found less than a mile from Hernandez's home on Monday. Hernandez was questioned by Massachusetts State Police, who were reportedly at his residence on Tuesday. A source close to Hernandez confirmed he has spoken with police. His player rep has declined comment.

just to add to this guy's disappointment

Coach Bruce Arians said there's "no doubt" Rashard Mendenhall is the Cardinals' No. 1 running back.
quote:

During OTAs and minicamp, Mendenhall ran as the clear feature back. Arians appears to have zero interest in giving Ryan Williams, Stepfan Taylor or Andre Ellington a legit chance to compete. "He took me personally to a Super Bowl, and I know what he can bring to the table as a runner and a pass protector and also a receiver," Arians said of his former first-round pick in Pittsburgh. "He's an every-down player. And I think he's looking forward to having an outstanding season."

quote:

29th overall RB taken, average position 5th round 11th spot Rashard Mendenhall

it's a little low...I hate mendy as much as the next guy, but ARZ had the worst rushing offense last year, with no QB play at all they only scored 11 passing tds the box was stacked....the RBs still scored 10 TDs.

Mendy will have all those, plus Carson Palmer checked down and completed a pass to the RBs 112 times last year(Dmac,Goodson,Reese,TJones)

Arizona RBs only caught 44 balls between them(wells, williams, howling, powell)

Me thinks Mendy is a steal and will flirt with RB1 status this year.

I hate Locker

quote:

Kenny Britt experienced "no knee issues" during the Titans' offseason program.
Britt was never 100 percent as he made his way back from a torn ACL last season, posting just a 45/589/4 line as he struggled with separation and drops. Britt was a beastly talent pre-injury, so we'd expect a rather robust bounce-back campaign if he's truly back to full health. That being said, he'll only go as far as Jake Locker takes him.

but I like Britt

quote:

Ray Rice said he has no problem ceding some touches to Bernard Pierce this season.
Rice is just 26 and hasn't missed a game since 2008, but he has piled up 1,527 touches over five NFL seasons. A timeshare could extend his career. "Bernard's a great backup, and he's a great runner," said Rice. "Going into our game plan, it's hard to prepare for, you know, two guys that can come at you, rather than one." Pierce was extremely impressive as a rookie, averaging 4.9 YPC on 108 regular-season totes. During the Ravens' four postseason wins, he received 31.7 percent of the running back carries. We're expecting a little bump on that split right out of the gate this season, capping Rice's projected rushes around 240.

he finished 3rd PPR with 257 totes....he may be slipping a lil too far at 7-10th pick

ESPN Boston says undrafted rookie TE Zach Sudfeld showed off "impressive pass-catching skills and dependable hands" during offseason workouts.
Sudfeld was already a very intriguing prospect thanks to his 6'7/255 frame and athletic skill set.

quote:

Jamaal Charles confirmed the Chiefs will run some pistol offense this season.
Charles continues to rave about the way he'll be used under new coach Andy Reid, who added Godfather of the Pistol offense Chris Ault as an offensive consultant this offseason. The Chiefs used the Pistol in 2008 under Chan Gailey, and backs such as Alfred, Morris, Frank Gore, and C.J. Spiller have had plenty of recent success in it. As the focal point of the entire game plan, Charles is a real threat for 350 touches. He has scary upside in PPR formats.

quote:

Steelers second-round RB Le'Veon Bell led the nation with 921 yards after contact last season. Montee Ball was second (887 yards)

not a huge fan of rooks, but both seem viable based on the spot that they are taking over

re: Kashonly's yahoo front page/twitter/roto update season long TOTD

quote:

The Titans are "very pleased" with first-round OG Chance Warmack's progress.
Warmack says his biggest adjustment has come before the snap. "In college, I got away with a lot of things because of how athletic I was, but everyone’s athletic in the NFL, so you have to think a little bit more." Coach Mike Munchak believes the No. 10 overall pick is ready to start. "He’s seen about everything he’s going to see in the regular season already, so he’s prepared that way." It's hard to believe Warmack has "seen about everything he's going to see" in pad-less practices, but he'll clearly be starting opposite Andy Levitre in Week 1

Tennessee line got better, CJ still had 4.5 avg with 1500 yards and 36 catches...TD totals were shite at 6, but he should have a better year this year based on O-Line improvements.

another analysis

quote:

the Titans poured money (Levitre) and a top-ten pick (Warmack) into their most obvious up-front liabilities. The previous strength was tackle play, so it would seem the group has shored up its weaknesses. Theoretically, there is potential for Tennessee's line to leap into the top five. But Warmack is a rookie, Levitre is undersized and not a great run blocker, and right tackle Stewart has recovered more slowly than expected from a fractured right leg. The Titans indicated their concern by flirting with free agents Winston Justice and Eric Winston. Ultimately, a top-ten offensive line ranking is a positive and big jump from how Tennessee performed last year. Now they need Jake Locker to throw the football more accurately from the pocket and Chris Johnson to play harder on a down-to-down basis.

Surely it can't be this cut and dry.

so true. The Panthers are playing the most difficult schedule this year based on the opponents winning percentage from last year. It just seems like the least opportune time to go into a shell offensively.

I agree totally kash. I think Charles is a year or two behind his supposed blow up year, but I think this is the year.

CBS Sports' Clark Judge considers second-year RB Daryl Richardson the "favorite" to be the Rams' starting running back.
Judge doesn't appear to have any inside info here, reasoning Richardson is the front-runner only "because he's the only guy with a resume." In June, coach Jeff Fisher indicated the club envisions Richardson as a "space" player, which typically means a change-of-pace back -- how Richardson was used as a rookie. We believe Isaiah Pead and Zac Stacy both have better chances to start.

I don't

Pead sucks dick, and Stacy is a slow arse midget

quote:

During Patriots spring practices, "there were times" Shane Vereen lined up as an outside receiver and got matched up with a linebacker.
Patriots Football Weekly's Paul Perillo compares the formation to the one out of which Vereen caught a 33-yard TD pass against Houston in the Divisional Round of the playoffs, beating coverage with a double move. Calling him a "versatile running back with wide receiver skills," Perillo believes Vereen will essentially be New England's No. 2 receiver behind Danny Amendola this year.
