Actually, it's very condensed. Some characters are missing, and some have been combined.

It was almost 1100 pages, so there was plenty of material for 13 episodes.

But wasn't the timeline in the book about a week if I remember correctly. Some changes had to be made. I agree with the comment on how much SK let's his work get tampered with.

Damn they must just be on day 2 and people are already losing their shite. Must be a toxin or something, I find it hard to believe that many people in a really small town are that bat shite crazy.

The idiot kidnapping the girl in the shed is an awful plot and is the only thing I dislike about it. Was the story this bad in the book or is it just bad due to the awful acting? I feel like I'm watching season 3 of Jericho.

I hope it's something besides aliens. Aliens is too easy.

Ok. Let me set it up as a spoiler so no one has a conniption fit.

SPOILERS

The propane being stored is used to cook meth. The reverend was on meth in the last episode.

Possible spoiler below

Doesn't he keep her in a pantry in the book? Not saying anything else.

I forget but he does some even weirder shite that we probably won't see on the show.

That is the key. The whole book is forgettable. Took me forever to force myself to finish it. How this is going to translate to network TV is beyond me.

I don't see them solving who is responsible translating very well over to TV. SK's books have a bad history of that. Usually when you get to that part it seriously comes off the rails.

The blonde chick deserves a Darwin Award if she's known this guy since 3rd grade and never once picked up on the psycho vibes.

He wasn't psycho from the get go. There's a reason for it's progression.

I love the red head. Kate Austen vibe to her. So they basically have 1 cop left since the other is now a criminal?

Ok, so I was interested after the pilot...but after watching these last two episodes I'm almost about to give up. Dialogue is terrible, the actors are equally as bad. I really wanted to like this show. The only characters that are interesting are big jim, Barbie and angie (who still happens to be down in the fricking shelter with junior). Junior is laughably bad. Ill give it one more episode and then Im calling it quits.

The cop running around in the woods with a "supressor" on his AR-15, that did not suppress shite killed it for me.

I've realized that the only similarity between the book and the TV show is:

The Dome.

That's it.

They aren't even the same, no sound goes through? Um, ok then.

Turrible. Just turrible. Way to many changes from the book, most of which were totally unnecessary.

This is like WWZ, buy the book, keep the cover flap and just take a big shite in the middle then squish it together on camera.
