1995 vs Auburn, @ TS (I was there, so I shouldn't have made that typo) - still the second best game I ever saw in person (2007 Florida still #1 for me).

It was in TS, but yea - incredible atmosphere. That was one of my first memories as a fan who actually really knew what was going on. Pure elation.

Bad teams play a lot of exciting games they usually lose. Good teams play a lot of boring games they win.

You can pick which you like better. I know what I'd pick.

You can't be serious Clark. The 90's??? All I need to say is Weed Eater Bowl and that does it for me. Hell No. In no way, shape, form, or fashion do I miss LSU football in the 90's. I would rather be expected to win than it be a big surprise when we do. Now the early 2000's when Saban arrived was pretty damn exciting. I will admit that.

The early 90s was when my hometown boy Anthony "Booger" McFarland played NT for the Tigers and destroyed opposing OL. Anthony represented Winnsboro, LA very well and still lives here today in his mansion. Much respect to Mark McQuillin (R.I.P.) for bringing him to LSU.

This sounds like abused child logic.

Remember that time dad came home to beat us, and he fell down drunk and passed out, instead? That was a great day!

The 90's were awful. When Ole Miss and State fans think your team sucks, hang it up.

Troy Twillie
12-6 Great game, forgot about that one.....

Best game I ever saw in person was probably '82 Fla.State and '07 Florida.
'12 Alabama WOULD HAVE BEEN the greatest ever, by FAAAAAAARRRRRRRRR, but........ :banghead: :banghead:

The worst coaching decision in the history of LSU football occurred in the 90's

Dinardo didn't go for 2 against South Carolina

Yeah, remember was hot sticky beautiful night game (don't know if was on ESPN or not) and being so cramped up tight with everyone in stands and the drama when Jamie just missed another pick 6 event then Troy's backward pick to seal it was one of best nights in otherwise mostly down FB decade!

Fightintiger - are you nuckin futts – the 90s compared to now. Archer then Crazy bout curly then Dinardo (he was a major upgrade), plus we had Joe Dean running off the road on lakeshore/Darymple…….. There is no comparison between then and now LSU was minor league then, today they are in the big leagues and it’s a lot more pressure and it has to be run more like a business so its not quite as homey as used to be. But they are relevant and talked about on a national scale. When I lived in BTR in the 90s my dad used to come see an LSU game a year – he never saw LSU win and it rained like a cow peeing on a flat rock during the Miami game (so yeah it does rain in Tiger stadium). My son has been to LSU 2x in past 2 years and both wins.
As early posters pointed out LSU baseball in the 90s was money ……

Do I want to go back to that not a chance

Does anyone else sort of miss those days? We were so good, football was so emotional, we had terrible games and great ones and things were always, always exciting.

Kidding, right?

I was in undergrad from 96-00 and we lost to Ole Miss 3 out of 5 years then. No thanks.

yup. They were garbage. I sat through the hallman years. Then sat through Dinardo's last two. No thanks. Got tired of seeing teams quit.

I would rather accept worse that our record indicates and with a few exceptions the magic was still yet to come.
