New stadium in Omaha, not small ball/homerun related

Anyone who went to the CWS and get back already get a bad vibe from the locals on the new stadium? I talked to a few people who live up there and nobody seems to be a fan of the stadium. My dad went this year and said he ran into several locals who griped about it nonstop.

Mostly centered around not having a vote on it and how they plan on paying for it since a minor league team doesn't play in it etc...

Seems everyone was for fixing Rosenblatt.

Anyone else get that talking to people in Omaha? Of course can't fix it now just curious.

no they don't

LINK

storm chasers play at a different park.

I'll say this about the park I hate how it plays so big and you have teams averaging like 2 runs a game or less. (see UCLA so far)

But the stadium is very modern and is a great place to watch a baseball game. I never went to the blatt but It has that major league type feel of a stadium. Maybe they move in the fences, but I hope they at-least change the balls soon.

It's a very nice stadium. However, if we don't either change the balls or the bats in college baseball, being a nice stadium doesn't really mean much.

This is about it for me......we are a fan base full of excuses. Why can't we just accept the fact that we couldn't get it done this weekend. It wasn't the damn bats. OSU, MSU, UNC, etc have hitter that are being very successful in TD Ameritrade with the same type of bats and balls that LSU used.

We didn't make the adjustments and do what we needed to do to win against teams that pitch great....simple as that.

TDAmeritrade Stadium feels like you're entering a shopping mall rather than a ball park.

At Rosenblatt you could spit and no one cared or even noticed.

At TDAS you keep waiting for someone to tell you to wipe your feet or remove your shoes as you enter.

Rosenblatt had wood seats and steel girders. TDAS has plastic seats with aluminum trim.

Rosenblatt was a baseball temple built on a hilltop. TDAS is a baseball kiosk built on a landfill swamp at the lowest point in Omaha where the playing field is lower than the Missouri River that runs less than a quarter mile away.

In Rosenblatt you could feel a breeze all the time. In TDAS the only breeze is created by the hordes of gnats which are angry because they've had their swamp stolen from them.

I miss Rosenblatt. I hate TDAS.

You didn't hear that they moved in the fences and changed the balls/bats everytime our opponents were up to bat???

Modern stadium.

1906 style baseball.

Not a good mix. Something's got to give.

I was hoping for cool weather and a nice breeze. We got the low 80's which was perfect. NO f'in breeze in any of the 4 games we went to. Building the stadium in a hole would help explain that.

I went to Rosenblatt in 2003 and was in awe of the atmosphere. Just like walking into Tiger Stadium, you could feel the energy and knew the place was special.

Getting rid of Rosenblatt was a terrible decision.

You seem to be the only person in this thread offering excuses. This isn't about LSU, this is about the game of college baseball and its entertainment value.

We didn't get it done? No shite Sherlock. Now please stay on topic. The bats and the dead ball make it a boring game.

If that is entirely true why is this on the Tiger Rant and not the MSB?

We both know there is nothing true about that quote though.

I think anyone in their right mind would tell you that it is the nicest stadium that any college team will play in that isn't a MLB or minor league park.

The guy I responded to was talking about balls and bats though.

It's a nice park, albeit a bit bland and "corporate". The bottom line is it's the same crowd, whether it be Rosenblatt or TDAS, so nothing has really changed. They still blare in OAR songs. Beach balls are everywhere. Tons of kids are running around and the Tiger fans are as loud as ever. The color of the seats have changed, and the big blue grandstand overhang is gone, but you can watch the game SRO from anywhere on the concourse, which is a huge plus. There are also plenty of bars within walking distance, which makes for a more fun postgame hangout. The venue has changed, but the CWS fan experience is no worse. In fact, it may be better.

I believe Raph left 116 RISP, and of course we all know the only way to drive in runs is a 450 foot blast.

This describes just about every MLB park opened in the last 15 years
