White House stands behind woman at the center or IRS controversy

Why did the White House accept the resignation of the guy who wasn't there when these crimes were being committed, but stand behind the woman who WAS there while the IRS targeted Obama's political enemies? Why not request and accept her immediate resignation as well?

quote:

The White House is standing behind the woman who led the Internal Revenue Service’s tax-exempt division while it targeted conservative groups — the same official who now runs the part of the agency charged with implementing “Obamacare.”

“No one has suggested that she did anything wrong yet,” said White House senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer, speaking on “Fox News Sunday.”Mr. Pfeiffer added that no one should jump to conclusions about whether Sarah Hall Ingram, given a promotion at the IRS as the agency’s singling out of tea party and conservative groups began to come to light, was directly involved in any wrongdoing.

True, but the guy was was acting head of the IRS and who wasn't even there when all this went down was asked to resign. Why not ask this woman to resign also? Or why not ask her to resign instead of the other guy?

This is all going to blow up in about 2-3 weeks and it is going to be undeniable for everyone.

Is she slated to be the enforcer of Obamacare?

YES!!!

I said from the outset that, if he obfuscates, it would brand him as complicit. Not even his sycophantic press corps is buying the "firing" of Miller as a fix-all. Defending this woman effectively implicates him. I hope he keeps it up to drive the impression home.

She's the one.

Makes the resignation of the other guy (the dupe) look all the more suspicious.

I like how the OIG concluded they could not determine political motivation, yet they admitted to never interviewing her or Miller about anything!!!

Obama has no knowledge of the circumstances associated with this women. He only learned about it by watching the news on Friday.

She was over that division. It was her responsibility to insure that things like this didn't happen. That's "directly involved." She's guilty, at the least, of malfeasance, which is more than enough to warrant a pink slip. Are they wanting proof that she gave the order or made out the hit list, maybe with fingerprints on it?

Actually, he (Steven Miller) was very much there and very much personally involved throughout the time period involved. He held the title of Deputy Commissioner for Services and Enforcement, a title which he kept after also being named Acting Commish. He directed and oversaw all major tax-exempt decisions under the previous Commissioner..

The Repubs better not let the WH get away without having a special investigator go after this....
