Well he has an LSU offer. Are you implying if he tried to commit to LSU, they wouldn't take it? That's insane. He can commit to LSU anytime he wants to. Been that way for quite some time.

Don't know. Just doesn't look like it's gonna be LSU.

It's typical on here when someone makes sense and asks a simple question for someone to answer with a question of their own.

I ask again, he has the LSU offer, it's most certainly commitable, so why is it LSU that's alleged to be the issue? It's a fit thing both ways, I believe the man said. How is this a fit thing from LSUs standpoint? They'd take his commit in a hot second.

re: '14 WR; Big Board Discussion - D'haquille Willams update? (PG. 9)

Okie State
LSU
TTU

I would bet my money on one of those three being his destination.

OSU would be the best place to develop in a good passing first program IMHO. Crowded WR position though, lots of comp.

I think he would be the highest profile recruit Kingsbury would get in 2014. Quinn will shatter the all time receiving yardage mark this year. He would be their "Fournette" (relatively speaking) and a big piece of the rebuilding of Leach's offense.

At LSU their "Fournette" is Leonard Fournette himself. Quinn is a nice get, but it is a crowded market in a pro style offense that favors bigger WRs in three wides and uses the TE as a receiver

Also I need to make a correction. The WR target numbers in the 2014 class are three freshmen and one JUCO. 4 total. I had it wrong last night. I apologize.

To whomever said it us easy to get to Clemson from lake Charles is delusional. Anyone can tell you driving across LA, MS and AL on I10I12 then going North on 85 is miserable. Driving across Texas doing 80 mph in 75 mph speed limit zones with little traffic in the rural areas is quite easy. I do it all the time.

How much did LSU use four or five wides in the Spring Game? I didn't really see anything about it in any of the write ups.

i could see OSU, but Tech simply doesnt win enough.

the kid is too used to winning to go to the middle of nowhere to not contend for big 12 and end up playing in shitty bowl games

I don't disagree with this at all. I just think to look at things objectively is to ask yourself why it's so hard to fathom him not being a Tiger, given the teams he's showing interest in/showing interest in him. There isn't a program anything like LSU amongst those listed.
Okie Lite
TTU
Clemson

Nothing like an LSU system, all similar in style to each other.

re: '14 WR; Big Board Discussion - D'haquille Willams update? (PG. 9)

True
Not arguing that at all. I think there is a lot to be said for going to a place where you are probably a four year starter, a high profile recruit and a featured player in a system that throws it 60 times every week regardless of who they are playing or the score

OSU is the best on paper, but he would probably sit and then have to beat out some really tough comp. he certainly has the ability to do just that

At LSU he would have to sit, would be expected to block a lot and might see five balls a game. If that is what he wants personally and he wants to be at a top ten program in the best conference in the country then commit to the offer.

Has great hands, he's smart, runs greats routes, FAST as hell, he can also jump pretty well also. They are going after him peeps!

dupre is a MUST get dueto size/athleticism, noil is a MUST get due to big play ability and due to versatility. quinn is not a must gt, he is a very good get and no way we miss him if we get williams, noil, blacknall, dupre.

yes, we want him but he's not a must get.

Why? Because he's white or some shite like that?

The kid is gonna be the all time record holder coming out of high school. He has the measurable and hands to go with that as well as being a smart football IQ and film studying machine.

Anyone thinking this kid isn't as good as they come is just plain ignorant and or racist with blinders on!

With all the drops LSU's guys had, it is shocking anyone thinks the WR spots aren't a wide open competition.

I love when people use this as any sort of justification or evidence as to why a kid should be playing early.

FWIW, I'm not saying he couldn't play early, but his high school stats have no bearing on whether or not he would.

That was only part of the post and meant to say he has the numbers along with the measurables.

So what should have bearing on speculating he could help LSU from day one?

And let me hlep you out...this isn't some small town 2A school who is beating up on slow undersized kids.....

He plays at a 5A school against elite competition and has amassed those numbers. The other teams know what's coming and can do nothing to prevent him from excelling. He is an elite talent and should be thought of that way. Not doing so is just ignorant.

You seem to really enjoy throwing out irrelevant factoids.

What is relevant concerning how quickly he gets on the field, no matter where he goes, is the competition at his position and how quickly he picks up what he is asked to do.

His HS stats and what class he played in don't matter there. They're just bullet points in a bio.

But he isn't in college yet, so the next thing for ALL, including coaches, to do is speculate on his abilities and his potential to be an instant impact player at the next level.

And at this point in his career stat-wise, there has never been one better. His techniques are above most and his measurables are solid.

His hands are as great as any player seen at this level and absolutely better than a couple of LSU's starters last year...

And you are flat out wrong saying a player isn't evaluated on his stats and who he played as competition....he is a can't miss prospect and a solid young man with terrific grades who is nothing but good for LSU in all aspects of his life. Lord knows the locker room needs more solid influences as well....he should start on that alone LOL

You've seen him catch passes from a Div 1 QB throwing to him to make this determination?

quote:

No, I'm not. Your interpretation of what I'm saying is wrong. In his recruitment, there are plenty of factors for evaluation. But his HS stats and that he played in 5A mean jack shite once he steps on campus and starts competiting for PT.

quote:

he is a can't miss prospect

No such thing.

quote:

Good locker room guys are a plus, but that shouldn't determine PT. And with as much of a ridiculous stage dad as he seems to have, I'm starting to question how good of a locker room guy he would be in the first place.

You guys can argue his talents, measurables, ability to play from day one, so on and so forth. But...
None of that has anything to do with where HE wants to go to school and play football, which is the topic here.
