Alabama - 1982. We held them to 80 yards total offense.

Bear Bryant called it an old fashioned arse whuppin'.

Jax-Tiger, you are absolutely correct. Bama had zero first downs in the 1st half.

Bear Bryant talked about retirement after the game. He did indeed retire one month later, then the following month died of a heart attack.

Our defense consisted of: Leonard Marshall, Ramsey Dardar, Bill Elko, Roland Barbay, Greg Bowser, Jeffrey Dale, Eugene Daniel, Lifford Hobley, James Britt.

Almost the entire starting defense went on to the NFL.
