No, just buy some real menhaden oil. That works like liquid gold.

1. Go to store
2. Purchase mega strike in tube
3. Apply to all baits before use
4. Profit

I have seen it. At the Sulfur Mine we weren't catching much of anything. Some old coonass trolled up and fished next to us while spraying WD-40 on his plastic. He caught about 6 to our 1. I'd never even heard of trying that. He told us that WD-40 is fish oil. After that I routinely took WD-40 with me and honestly I think it helped quite a bit at times. I know the fish oil story was BS but sometimes it does help, for whatever reason (don't really care).

Probably just masks the scent of people and plastic, would be my guess.

I worked with a guy that sprayed it on his cut bait to catch Mangrove snapper.

He always caught fish.

I coat all my hooks with it when I make a bulk purchase. Im damn sure not spraying pogie oil into a Tupperware container and opening it up a month later to grab a handful of lead heads. That's shite is nasty.

They don't say but I seriously doubt it. Fish oil would turn rancid.

WD-40

quote:

What a Fish story!
Myth: WD-40 contains fish oil.
Fact:
Consumers have told us over the years that they have caught some of the biggest fish ever after protecting their fish hooks and lures with WD-40. We believe this legend came from folks assuming that the product must contain fish oil since it appears to attract fish. Sorry Charlie®, it just ain’t so.

WD-40 Company has taken steps to respect and conserve the environment, and encourages its users to do the same. While WD-40 can be used to help protect fishing equipment from rust and corrosion, WD-40 Company does not recommend using WD-40 to attract fish.
