I know I'm biased and inclined to believe him as it is, but Tharold Simon never seemed like the kind of egotistical a-hole that would tell a cop arresting him that he owns the town. That's some Rolando McClain shite.

Sometimes the cops can be pricks, and sometimes prima donna football stars can act immature and obnoxious. Not a big deal.

Yeah, Simon is the only football player besides Lavar Edwards I got to actually talk to in class and meet. He was a real nice dude.

I didn't know who he was until he was suspended for the Auburn game in 2011 and I noticed the guy who I had to always give my extra scantrons to had his face on the news as one of the suspended players.

Agreed.

Not so much.

I work with police every chance I get, and do everything I can to help them do their basically impossible jobs. But we grant them a shite ton of authority, power, leeway and immunity (both legal and practical). I despise seeing that being flaunted or abused in any way. I like the fact that cops making an arrest with probable cause can shoot people who legitimately threaten them with death or bodily harm without worrying about getting screwed by the system. Incidents of cops "being pricks" that involve illegitimate arrests for resisting arrest mess that up. That pisses me off.

If Simon's story is true, that cop needs to lose his job and serve a little bit of time. False arrest, especially for resisting arrest, is seriously bad news.

Well it all goes back to who you hang with. That is always a big tell! You hang out with scum you going to get the short end of the stick when it comes to the police. He needs to consider who he is hanging out with! I mean he was at his grand mothers house. What do you want the cop to do... just walk away?

I want the cop to respond appropriately to the situation. If Simon's story is true and he complied with the cop's instructions and didn't make any move to resist arrest, then yeah

just walk away?
That's what cops are supposed to do EVERY SINGLE TIME UNLESS THERE IS A CRIME COMMITTED.

well looks like the cops must a really been busy saving lives, fighting fires and arresting murders and rapist. Yet they found the time to arrest a kid over a parking violation in front of his grandma's house. Told to move the car he does and then gets arrested? what happened to put a ticket on the vehicle and pay the fine. Yeah cops are always on the side of the people they never do anything wrong or abuse their authority. I am sure the cops wasn't the least bit jealous that he was stuck in his 29k job writing ticket and this punk kid going to play for big bucks in NFL. Anyway I am sure this will get thrown out and go away without much fanfare.

Yea, I was very suprised when that came out. Simon never really displayed that kind of attitude while at LSU. Sounds like the cop has issues if true. I wish these kids would stop with the pants below their arse though, it doesn't give a good impression.

As much as I want to believe that, I have a feeling a few more phrases came out of Simons mouth that he "accidentally" left out.

Even if the cops story is 100% accurate, I fail to see how it amounts to "intimidation."

Man. I bet that's true. If so, the rant may need to acquire the officer's cell phone number.
