'toon may not be in the best of taste, but Perry brings that shite on himself and TX, the biggest TX ex, er, implosion, was his presidential candidacy, he outed himself as the ignorant, arrogant, hypocritical boob that he is, and inadvertently exposed the "special" law that he and his cronies created to allow him to receive his pension while still "serving" as governor

I think the cartoonist was putting in a cel, what columnists would use words for, the lack of regs, safety standards, regular inspections could have have played a major role in the cause of the explosion, or, if they were in place may have prevented it, freedom of speech?

well, I think the cartoon is reckless in that we do not know what caused the explosion yet. It could be that the explosion was totally independent from regulated activities.

That may well be so but you have to ask yourself what kind of zoning regulations (if they even have any) would allow a plant like this next door to a school and an apartment complex. Maybe Texas won't be so attractive to those California companies when they realize where their kids will be going to school.
