re: Eric Bledsoe's Trade Value

Like someone said, Deandre Jordan is basically a 3 quarter player. He also has one of the worst contracts in the league.

I have fallen off the Eric Bledsoe bandwagon...fantastic athlete, electric, would love to have him on the roster but wouldn't give up too much for him

Why would you not do one of these trades? Like you said fantastic athlete, electric. CP3 talks highly of him. He has the tools we need. Primarily an athletic 1 who will lock down the perimeter.

Overpaying for him would be a better risk for the Pelicans than some of the other moves suggested, imo

Clippers will want assets in return. They wouldn't let a team possibly overpay for him and he walks for free...

any way to get Rondo and keep Anderson?

Celtics are gonna have to blow it up set themselves up for one of those draft studs in 2014.

Rondo, Davis, and Anderson would be an ideal core, imo.

The first player teams will inquire about on our roster if we look to trade for anyone will be Ryno. I'm not sure it would be possible to get Rondo and keep Ryno IMO.

I meant overpaying in assets.

...Giving one too many asset for Bledsoe (who I think will be worth it) would be better than paying BIG money for Bynum. JMO

If the Celtics are ready to move on, I'm pretty sure you could get Rondo for a package of the 1st pick, Rivers and maybe Lopez. I'd rather Bledsoe but it'd be a nice pick-up. Just not much they can do afterwards..

Starting with Gordon, Lopez, and a top 5 pick couldn't get some consideration.

...We have Rivers, too. Is Doc gonna stick around for the rebuild?

A high 1st and Rivers for Rondo would be tolerable, though I have character concerns about him. With his pouting, I don't see him handling a move from the Celtics to the Pelicans well.

Adding Lopez to that is not a good idea unless we've found a starting center elsewhere, as Davis won't be able to do it and Smith isn't cut out for that role full-time.

Samuel Dalembert??? He could be a good option for a year or two if we get rid of Lopez.

re: Eric Bledsoe's Trade Value

The problem with Bledsoe is that he's a well-known trade piece that plays for a high-profile team, and sometimes the hype does not coincide with the true value of a player like that.

On the flip side, he might just be held back by his lack of minutes/opportunities.

Tough, but I don't see us achieving maximum value if we try to deal for him.

re: Eric Bledsoe's Trade Value

I like Bledsoe, i do. But I really think it would be a huge mistake to give up real assets for him plus give him a huge contract.

The guy can't shoot and he isn't a distributor. Almost every one of his positives come on the defensive end.

I understand the defensive angle in wanting him, but the extent to which a PG's defense actually changes the team has been really exaggerated imo. How much a team actually NEEDS an awesome defender at PG has been exaggerated as well.

I mean, what does it say about Bledsoe and CPs defense when they're getting torched by Conley? Point is, nobody's stopping the better PGs in the league. Nobody. The only reason Tony Allen is even in the league is for his defense and CP bent him over down the stretch.

Its just not worth it to me for Bledsoe to come here and be a minus on offense and do a slightly better job guarding elite PGs that nobody in the league can actually stop anyway.

With that said, i'd probably gamble on Bledsoe before I gave any money to Jennings. We know exactly who he is.

re: Eric Bledsoe's Trade Value

You would think Robin Lopez kicked MM's dog or something the way he is always suggesting we trade him. I like Lopez and his contract. I like Bledsoe but would not trade a ton for him. As far as Jennings, I would pass on that prima donna. He is a bad shooter/chucker and very inefficient.

Lopez is one of the 2 or 3 assets we have... for the same reasons you probably like him

I like him but he apparently has issues with his role as a defense-first center.

That got him benched in Milwaukee in favor of Larry Sanders this season.

Agreed on both counts.

I would rather take a run at Bledsoe as an RFA next off-season than trade a lot of assets for him, as the Clip Show sure can't afford to keep him when they're already paying big money to Griffin, Jordan, and CP3 as of this summer.

This is actually makes sense for all 3 teams. I like it as well.

Gambling on Bledsoe is a risk, but one worth Lopez. Pels have to take chances and get lucky on deals like this to be a serious contender.

Any risk that isn't a max contract to an unproven player is a good one, IMO

I wouldnt have a problem dealing Lopez if it made us better. But depth is actually a good thing.

We have a likely top 5 and plenty money to spend. Its not mandatory that we start dealing potentially really solid reserves away until we look like Portland with no bench at all.

I can't see us dealing Lopez unless we make a move that brings in a starting-quality center as his replacement.

We have Jason Smith and Louis Amundson on the roster, but both are backups rather than starters.

We'd need to pull off a trade for another center, draft one like Alex Len (ugh), or sign one such as Pekovic in order to make him expendable.
