price?

That's the hard question. Nobody knows what one team is going to throw at him. Some on here say two years others say max at 4. How 'bout a medain?

Would you sign Andrew Bynum to a three year 36M dollar contract? (3 years @ 12 million per year).

So are we talking about the guy that beat out EG for the number 1 spot in every worst contract/biggest disappointment list?

Yea we should get him.

I wouldn't

If we could somehow get him to a 2 year contract as some have suggested it may be worth it. I just don't see that happening. Someone will give him a 4 year deal

I wouldn't sign him to any deal.

Ok, maybe if it had team options in the 2nd AND 3rd year. Then, sure.

Not even with a completely unguaranteed deal. Bynum's problem is his knees are a ticking time bomb. You don't know when they'll go off but you do know they will go off as he's averaged just 44 games per year for the last 6 seasons. A young team like the Pelicans just has no business taking on that kind of risk. A team with a closing window or no star player at all are really the only ones who should be desperate enough to take on that kind of risk.

These are his games played by year since he was a rookie

With all the bitching on here about Gordon the fact that this is even debated is a joke. Bynum is a whinier, bitchier, pussier, taller, and much more injury prone version of Gordon.

He's also the 2nd best center in the NBA when healthy. I'm pretty iffy about our medical personnel right now, but if they have a feeling he can give us 70+ games per season over the next 3 or 4 years, a healthy Bynum, EG, and Davis is a pretty legit big 3. We're all kind of hoping the Hornets become a tough out in the playoffs ~3 years from now, but if those three stay healthy, they could be a legit title contender.

re: Would you sign Andrew Bynum?
Hell No.

Someone like Cuban will throw way to much at him to make a splash and we are NEVER going to get him at a 2yr/24 or 3yr/36 mil rate.

There's no incentive for Bynum to not maximize every single penny he can out of this contract.

Do not want.

He's only played more than 65 games 1 out of 8 seasons. If the doctors tell you 70+ is happening they're either lying or have found a cure for arthritis.

This also presumes that dumbass won't frick up his knee on his own time again.

It's one thing for him to hurt his knee on the court and require surgery.

It's another thing to go bowling on a surgically-repaired knee while rehabbing it and do enough damange to require another surgery.

With the players we have coming back I think we could get away with playing Bynum only 24-28 min to help his knees.

So max money for a guy not even getting 6th man minutes? Signing Bynum only makes sense as part of a tank for Wiggins strategy that makes it look like we aren't trying to tank.

No way would I want the guy. Yes, he's an exceptional talent when he's not injured. However that's not often. He can produce, but he's also a huge bitch with shitty character.
