Only a black trainer would know how to strengthen that extra muscle they have in their legs. You know, the one that makes them faster.

I think that I know why some salespeople think that though.

You should seek federal funding for your experiment.

Black people usually have more in common with other black people

White people usually have more in common with other white people

It's some realllll simple shite.

I sold cars in 04, sold many to black people, more to white people.
We had one black salesman, the majority of his sales were to black people.
quote:

walk in and seek out the black car salesman/trainer?

Our mgr would have chewed our arse if this happened. People barely could get out of their vehicle before a salesman was standing next to them.

re: My random racial social experiment
I bought my 4Runner from a black dude at the dealership. Grizzly old man with a shit-ton of common sense and patience. I picked him from the lineup because he didn't look like a tail-wagging, drooling douche ready to pounce.

And I'll be honest - if I went somewhere where only 10% of the staff was white, I might seek out the white dudes, thinking I might be able to relate better to then. Depends (Undergarments) on the type of place though.

Also, I purposely seek out females at restaurants, regardless of ethnicity. I hate it when a frickin' dude brings me my food.

its just a matter of being comfortable. My indian roomate never tried to talk to white people and he was always scared of them. I remember in this one class he was too afraid to ask for a scantron and he almost fainted when a white girl gave one to him

re: My random racial social experiment
I think Eazy E pretty much laid down the law for how racial interactions are governed from a black perspective:

quote:

**** say **** we cool but Cracker say ****, **** nut the frick up - Eazy E

ETA: I don't know what filter (Browser or TD.com) did it but I typed the actual word that was automatically omitted. Kinda odd that it would omit one racial slur but not the other. Even TD.com has affirmative action.

re: My random racial social experiment
quote:

I was working out with my buddy at the gym the other day and he made the comment that our gym has 3 total black trainers and he's never seen any of them train a non black client. i got to thinking and noticed over the next few weeks that god dammit hes right.

i found this very odd. To take it a step further, i was getting my car serviced the other day and noticed that the 3 black car salesman all had only black customers.

I know the old saying that black people dont trust whitey when it comes to money so can any black guys comment on this?

i guess my biggest question is do the black people know ahead of time that their is a brotha working there or do they walk in and seek out the black car salesman/trainer? just curious

The same reason white people in a crowd of mixed races would seek out another white person, black person would seek out another black person, indian, asian, islander, etc.

It's human nature to feel more comfortable around and to naturally congregate around others of your own kind. Animals do it, and we are just highly intelligent animals.

I see no problem here Although liberals would probably demonize the act of feeling comfortable around your own race. I say let people be people!
