What about Houston? What's their excuse?

AAA team for major league prices? No thanks and I am an Astro fan. I would rather spend $10 or so to go see the Sugarland Skeeters or Corpus Christi Hooks.

It's been a while since I've seen someone completely lose an argument based on an attempted point purely proving their ignorance.

Middlebrooks reaches the warning track in the 8th but not quite enough in his bid for 4th HR in today's game against the Jays.

as a very casual fan, there's just too many damn games

MLB has been playing at least 150 regular-season games for A HUNDRED YEARS now - can't be "too many" for true baseball fans. To "casual fans", why would you possibly care? It doesn't affect you in any way. Average attendance last season was almost 31,000 for 2,343 games. That speaks for itself.

I love young talent. I really love our team not being coached by a jackass.

Why is this surprising? There's like 5 people at any given game

Like attendance matters anyway. Most owners love their new TV deals based on the number of potential viewers. People actually going to a game are gravy.

True. Plus usually if your team good=good attendance, Team bad=bad attendance.

Usually the STL Cards avgs 36,000-40,000/game.
Royals 17,000-20,000/game. Both teams in the same state. One team is good, another is bad.

Royals attendance will be higher this year, team should be better.

I'll also add I doubt if people want to fight traffic for midweek games when you can watch at home. Hell I get to watch both the Cards and Royals on TV.

well there's that and there's also that there is a real love of baseball in the culture of Saint Louis. It is one of the places in the country where baseball is a clear #1 sport.

I believe St. Louis is considered by most to have the best fans in baseball, so there's that.

LOL. Nola would never support an MLB team. Hell, their attendance isn't even special for a minor league team, which is arguably more fan interactive and family friendly.

Also, too many boxtards would go to LSU games over the MLB games in April and May and then bitch that it's too fricking hot in June, July, and August.

Where I live, yes. Baseball is almost a dead sport here. (northern georgia)
No it's not. North Georgia is supporting an MLB franchise and two of its minor league affiliates. Also one of the best showcases for young talent in the country over at East Cobb. Baseball is second only to football here.
