A local hospital around here just adopted the slogan "Cheat Death" for their new advertising campaign. This just seems like a horrible idea to me. Including the word death in the campaign is terrible. Apparently the hospice associated with this hospital is pissed. Is this a fireable offense for the CEO? (He apparently approved this slogan without running it by the board of directors, and also had every hospitalist who works there--like 22 doctors--all turn in there notice a month or two earlier). I don't know if it's a terminable offense but it would make me think twice about using their services. Wow! That's the best they can come up with? I'd fire the marketing agency first, then I would call Larry Tate.
