Post Birth Abortion. well, well, well, well well...

A little Clockwork Orange lingo for you older folks.

I told ya so

I've read a lot of Peter Singer. Mostly on animal rights. But he suggested the idea of killing children (kindly) after they are born if there is a good reason.

I was mocked. Well, here it is again.

The animal rights debate is woven into the abortion debate due to the concept of what being is 'sentient.' That, and the issue of personal freedom and hormone/brain battles.

This woman has obviously read Singer.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Wonder how much longer till "slippery slope" stops existing as a fallacy and becomes an accepted tactic.

No. This is the 'wow, it came out alive. let's kill it now' case.

Is this not the natural progression from where we are headed?

It won't be long now...

As evil as it is, you have to concede her views are consistent: If a mother wants to kill her child, the age of that child shouldn't matter.

At the end:

"What objection could you possibly have to obligate a doctor to a child born alive to transport a child to a hospital?"

"What about those situations where it's in a rural healthcare setting where the hospital is 45 minutes to an hour away...You know there are some logistical issues involved."

Is she saying the life of that kid isn't worth a 60 mile drive?

There are slippery slope arguments and slippery slope fallacies. All slippery slope fallacies are slippery slope arguments, but not all slippery slope arguments are slippery slope fallacies.

Most people conflate the two. Don't be one of them

"Human babies are not born self-aware, or capable of grasping that they exist over time. They are not persons”; therefore, “the life of a newborn is of less value than the life of a pig, a dog, or a chimpanzee." Pete Singer 1979

Absolutely Yes.....

But only on the condition that the mother would also be euthanized simultaneously.

This is same rationalization that was used to justify race-based slavery and the Holocaust. It's just so much easier to commit mass murder when all you have to do is define a class of people as sub-human.

Absolutely. And he being a huge eugenics fan is no doubt a fan of Hitler's work.

YOutube Gianna Jessen and watch her speech in Australia a few years ago. It will not be something for the pro-abortion crowd to watch at all.

how is "post birth abortion" even a phrase...the fact that that is where we are...what in the world could be worse? Some times, we don't deserve life...

Good quote. And now I shall expand on the animal rights debate for our newer posters who have not read Singer.

Singer argues against using Chimps for medical experimentation for ethical reasons...they are sentient beings. Also pragmatic reasons.. why not experiment on human babies that mothers want to abort? Much better medical data with our own species.

Post birth abortion arguments dealing with hormones: Mom finds out fetus is retarded. Mom is in hormonal mindset to deliver fetus. Mom gives birth. Baby is retarded. Hormones go away. Mom says 'WTF, I don't want to ruin my life."
