I think that they should allow all of the cool kids and jocks a free pass into the band or the glee club then. I mean what's fair is fair right? who cares if the star quarterback or head cheerleader sucks and band or singing?
I don't know what a "Glee club" is but I sorta get your point. Difference being, kids aren't born with innate behavior to play an instrument. Competition and surviing though, those are essential in life. They're also lots of fun too.

If getting knocked out of a dodge ball game is a big deal, they have MUCH bigger issues the Superintendent needs to be worrying about.

Make no mistake about what this is. ONE pussy parent of a pussy kid went raise hell so everyone pays. The Superintendent doesn't give a rat's arse if a fat- arse kid gets plugged with a dodge ball in a P.E. class.

I'm going to guess you don't know what a Glee Club is, either.

We had prison ball. Same thing as dodgeball, except if you got hit or they caught your ball, you went to prison, which was behind the other team's side. If a ball made it through the team and into your prison, you could hit them and get back in the game. If your ball got caught while in prison, you were completely out.

Talk about a total awesome clusterfrick.

Oh, and this is so 2000. There have been stories of banning dodgeball since I've been in school.

we went from rubber balls to these foam type around that time.

the funny part was the foam balls would actually go faster and there were more of them so you could load up with 2 or 3 at a time and machine gun people with them.

These state-sanctioned pogroms against Bully Americans must end. The persecution of innocent youngsters for a simple lifestyle choice borders on fascism. When will America wake up and see these Bullyphobes for what they are?

I am a teacher at a private school and we just had a dodgeball tournament fundraiser that raised over $12,000 dollars. Parents and kids loved it. The teacher played students at the end, and the parents played the 8th grade class at the end as well.

Prison Ball is a great game, but so is Continuous Dodgeball...when the person who got you out gets out, you get back in...kids love it. We play it all the time in PE.

It's technically "banned" in Calcasieu Parish, as well. We still play a bastardized version of it.

A New Hampshire school district has banned dodgeball ...

Well, that sucks. That was my favorite part of P.E.

They objectify slower students who don't catch as well."

Pffft ... How about it teaches slower students to catch or get the hell out of the way.

Didn't they give rid of tag (Touching) and musical chairs (Ooh you feel left out). I guess monkey in the middle is out too. We turned out OK. We also learned about competition.

Just like the bs that everybody gets a trophy

America will never wake up. This is the nation that elected Barack Obama TWICE. The "gimmes" outnumber the "givers" now. We make more and more pussies with each generation. The continued over prescription of anti depressants, the obsession with celebrity culture, the further decay of morals, the growing debt load, the strain on the business community, the rewarding and embrace of outlandish and obscene is all contributing to what America has become.

This nation is never going to recover. Never.

And we deserve whatever happens to us.

Bah, back in the day, even dodgeball would have been considered sissy-fied. We played tackle games like takle football, british bulldog and tap & out of jail. If you still had all your buttons and had no grass stains or rips in your kahkis you just weren't trying very hard.

Even those now whinning about how soft kids are today would have been considered soft. Dang kids.

Recognizing that it's not the actual game as much as it is the lame "teacher with a degree" in charge of the dick heads picking on another kid is the issue.

Ultimately, the issue starts at home with poor parenting and from a self hate the bully maintains. They are either abused, witness abuse, or use bullying as a vehicle for acceptance where it would otherwise not be available.

I was bullied in grade school until I froze a pop can in a sack and smacked the fricker upside the head. That ended that.
