Actually, I meant to tell you that it was based on their historical performance, but close enough.

Well than why not use the most relevant data, this season?

but I don't see the reason that 2013 Rhymes bats in front of 2013 Katz. I'd rather Katz get the extra at bats and bat behind our leading hitter Bregman. Plus with a formidable 5 hole hitter behind Katz he would see better pitches to drive. Rhymes is great at putting the ball where he needs to based on the pitch so having someone behind him "protect" him isn't as important in my opinion.

sounds good but we may be splitting hairs. katz is knocking the cover off the ball right where he bats. he must be seeing good pitches. personally, i think we have some damn good hitters and that's a damn good pdroblem to have. i'm not close enough to judge who bats when. hell, id probably screw it up anyway.

100% splitting hairs. The lineup has been great! I love to talk about LSU Baseball and any way to do that I'm gonna try. That is what this is. Get to talk baseball philosophy and how it affects LSU

They can get both guys more at bats moving laird to leadoff, rhymes to 2 and katz to 4th

Jones really was the perfect lead off when his bat was hot; he and Laird can both get home on some of Bregman's singles.

Seriously. Accusing me of being dishonest? Using this season's data with that from last year still supports the conclusion Katz strikes out more than Rhymes. Come on, guy.

SoS and you apparently are advocating ignoring the large sample in favor of a smaller one.

Guess I'm not seeing a big trade off in Stevenson for Sciambra - in more than twice as many at-bats, sciambra has a better avg and higher obp, and seems to usually make the pitcher really work.

Maybe Stevenson deserves a shot, and I'm all for playing the best players, but Sciambra was asked to take many strikes for the benefit of everyone else. How many of hitters would have a much lower average if they only got one swing per at bat. That's why his K's are so high. Plus his OPB is .430?!?!? Not like he is a scrub. Stevenson maybe better. We will see

bregman, rhymes, laird then katz in that order and thats with laird not playing in a mid week game

You can't just go by at bats. You could get walked 4 times in a game and have no at bats and the guy behind you could go 1-4, but you both came to the plate the same number of times.

Stevenson is the best outfielder of all 4 in discussion. Not sure what you mean about him running around for the ball.
