re: Spring Breakers up to 70% on Rotten Tomatoes

I go off of a combination of the critic and user review, not just the advertised one. If it's high on critic and low on user than it is usually artsy and full of dialogue, I'll usually pass. If it's high on user and low on critic, it is usually big and dramatic that is usually fun to pass the time but no means a good movie, but I'll go. If it's high on both, I'll go.

I won't go to the high critic/low user because I might miss something in some dialogue somewhere I can't rewind and may become discouraged the rest of the movie. Also, I can't sit in those seats for long amounts of time so I like to be excited when I'm at the theater.

I also look at the user critic Aaron (guy with batman avatar). He usually likes what I like.

Montage with Britney spears song is worth price of admission alone.

yes it was.

saw it yesterday. it was fantastic. music by cliff martinez. franco's acting was insane.

Roeper said 'It's self-indulgent, it's funny, it's dark, and it's always provocative.'

that is true. i was grinning, dazed, blindsided, mesmerized, and excited.

one critic said 'britney meets scarface' i agree. it is a "dark mtv 'city of god' experience"

it is truly an experience.

So this movie is an Ingmar Bergman type classic film?

I just now saw this at lunch time. I loved it.

The way the film was shot is unique. I loved the colors/music.

This enitre movie is a microcosm of the young teen generation today.

James Franco fricking nailed his role.

Anyone else felt like the 2nd half of the movie was all about Alien and the 3 then 2 girls were a non factor?

Cries & Whispers and a great Harmony Korine film are two very different types of "classic".

The first half was about escaping straight life to experience the "spring break life." The second half was about living the "spring break life" full time. Alien lives the "spring break life" full time. It's who he is. So in a way, yes.

Definitely.

Also, I left the theatre feeling so strange, so ashamed of everyone and everything around me.
It's one of those films that you have to walk outside afterwards and think deeply.

Harmony Korine did a masterful job with this piece of satirical cinema. I'll probably go see it again.

Won't pay money to see it in a movie theater - trailer was too stupid.

Interesting to see if it stays fresh - down to 68% now.

The user community isn't digging it (57%) - that could just be haterade, tho.

for a reason.

Have you ever watched it with the director's commentary? Guy seems to have caught a sniffle. Hope he's feeling better.

To trick the stupid people. Remember when Drive came out? People flocking to Gosling in a car-related action movie when it was actually something very different than the Fast & Furious franchise. It was in Refn's best interest to market it like that and I feel as though the same may be happening now for Korine (haven't seen the movie yet).

1. That isn't true for 100% of situations.
2. No I did not like The Hobbit.

Refer to mine. It's the combo of both that needs to be addressed.

when you link a video instead of saying "skip to" or fast forward.

Add &t=4m10s

That would make it work for all.

I don't think that's a ridiculous viewpoint; unless you're talking about the 1978 version because that movie is awesome.

Loved it, and I'm not putting The Hobbit (2012) out there as some kind of "undeniably great" movie, but it's RT critic v. viewer percentages were pretty contradictory and most people I know liked it.

My own review of it (which no one replied to ) wasn't completely flattering, but I still liked the movie.

I had no plans to see this movie, but the comments in this thread have made me curious.
