re: Americans Abroad Thread

Possibly but the podcast I listened to yesterday Jurgy is very high on Shea right now, he's making the most of his minutes at Stoke and I bet Jurgy calls him in and starts him wide left for the Costa Rica game. Jurgy also is dead set on the Jones/Bradley combo in the midfield and said with time if they learn to play together and can grasp the concept that when one pushes forward the other holds that he would love to play without a true 6... The thought of that scares me

I haven't seen Corona play, so I'm not comfortable commenting on his prospects as a starter. But I am comfortable in saying that Jones and Bradley are easily our two best central midfielders, leaving either out of the starting 11 is unacceptable.

I'm not as down on Jones as this board tends to be. I do recognize his penchant for untimely bookings, but the drop off in talent after Jones is enough that he's worth the risk.

If jones has the right tactical job, then he's really a pretty good player. It's when coach doesn't make it clear enough that him thundering down the field and passing it to the other team is not an acceptable possession, that we all groan and love to hate him

I predict jones gets the armband. JK always talks about how important he is to the team. I'm not that pissed about it, quick someone shoot me.

This right here. And when Williams is also on the field with him and Bradley, it's just a mess

Also, FJ and DW were released by the hoff. Ives seems to think FJ wouldn't have gotten the release if there wasn't a good chance he'd play

In terms of players who have been reported to be joining the team, Jozy Altidore, Eddie Johnson, Fabian Johnson, Danny Williams and Sacha Kljestan have all been identified as making the trip according to their respective clubs. Sources tell SBI that Brek Shea is also on the roster, while there are rumblings that Joe Corona has not made the squad. Also, D.C. United teammates Chris Pontius and Bill Hamid were seen at D.C. United training today, making it appear as though they won’t be on the squad.

Roster release at 1PM.(assuming est)

re: Americans Abroad Thread
Apparently it's Wednesday. I didn't realize there were two Sheffield teams. Short term loan.
