re: Who are the most important/influential louisiana bands

I would agree with all of these. If you go back further people like Jerry lee are also huge. Need a side thread on what ur state ranks nationally as an influencer.

If Neutral Milk Hotel counts as an LA band, they have been a very influential band to the underground scene.

80's
Zebra
Gangster

Randy Jackson is in a league of his own. Glenn Delaune used to back him up with a band called Gangster. The lead guitarist was my old roommate, name of Pat Bearb. I've never since meet a more solid guitar player. He died. I know Randy and Glenn, both super nice guys, both great talents.

the revivalists suck. The Meters, Galactic, Dr. John, Earphunk, the Terms (for shreveport), Buckwheat Zydeco, Trombone Shorty and Orleans Ave. are probably the biggest right now

Britney and Lil Wayne are the correct answers even if you dislike their music.

Fairly popular band with nationwide appeal back in the late 70's, early 80's.

Who atteneded the Acid Bath/Pantera concert at UNO Lakefront Arena?

That's where I learned that Phil was a New Orleanian by birth.

Great concert. Lots of, umm, "aroma" in the air that night.

Acid Bath never opened for Pantera. That show at UNO was with White Zombie and Eyehategod. Speaking of the LA metal scene, Eyehategod and Crowbar are the most influential by far. Not necessarily the most popular though.

Awww!

Dammit. I was wrong. It was White Zombie that opened for Pantera.

Acid Bath opened for Marilyn Manson at Papa Joe's.

Just to prove it was an honest mistake...

Hey, that was a long time ago!
