Vatican II? Catholics, what's been the biggest change in the Church in your lifetime?

They started using cheaper wine for the blood of Christ. Seriously, if the only place I can go to get drunk on Sunday morning is church they need to at least serve some decent spirits.

Very big change in the wordage of creeds, chants, and daily mass sayings. Sounds small but one of these sayings are the offering of your life to these beliefs. Im sure one of these theologians can ellaborate. This was probably in the last 3 years.

Not since the First Council of Nicaea in 325 AD.

Because the media likes to get all up in arms about the Church's "position" on "controversial matters".

He can end the corruption in the Vatican, corruption in which he has professed to despise, and work to bring people back to the Church.

Yep. The media really needs to get over itself. The Catholic Church will never elect a pope who is pro-choice or pro-gay marriage. You can take that to the bank. That's why I really don't get the terms "conservative" and "progressive" as it relates to the Church. These issues are Church doctrine and the College of Cardinals will not elect someone who is openly against Church doctrine.

Things like requiring celibacy of an all-male priesthood could change. Birth control and all sorts of things having to do with sex also do not rise to core beliefs. The balance of power between the bishops and the pope. The degree to which the Roman church seeks communion with other Christian sects. These are just a few things that are important but that do not rise to the level of dogma and conceivably could change. By the way, I am just well versed enough in Catholicism to be dangerous. Feel free to shoot me down on any of these, but I believe them all to be correct.

Core belief, but could be reinterpreted.

Core beliefs.

Quite possible.

Highly likely.

Do Catholics still believe in purgatory? If not that has been a pretty big change in my lifetime.

Please enlighten me as to your reaction. When I was a kid I often heard my Catholic friends speaking of purgatory and now I do not. BTW - When you react in such a manner to non Catholics asking questions about your religion it makes you look defensive. I was not attacking Catholicism in any manner, I was just asking a legitimate question.
