In the early '90s a friend of mine worked at the golf course at the Air Force Academy. He told me I had to leave work, drive to the golf course to watch a kid hit balls on the driving range. To make a long story short, it was Tiger. The thing I remember was he was so skinny, if he turned sideways all you saw were glasses. He was playing in a AJGA tournament.
And Earl was a first class prick in the early '90s.
I saw a couple of his matches and he was having trouble adjusting to 6,000 feet and the terrain on the greens. But it was obvious to me he had game and I hadn't seen the last of him. I saw him roughly 7-8 years later at Castle Pines and he had "bulked" up and was in the early stages of his PGA Tour career.
