We're talking about opiates in general.

methadone. Not suboxone , two different things.

Really ?? well damn

Nah, I was asking 480 a specific question about subs earlier.I was in the methadone program for a good while. Never took the subs

I could never understand wanting to depend on a dose for the rest of my life. Tho most people do once they go. No jails honor methadone scripts anymore. So..if you get in a jam and can't get out for some crazy reason YOU'RE frickED. when your taking 180mg a day, knowing that will keep your arse up at night

Marijuana is a life long addiction. He may get "clean" and he may even tell you he doesn't want it, but he'll always be biding his time looking for his next score. If you keep this kid around your house, it's just a matter of time before he robs, kidnaps or murders you trying to get back that high he first had from "toking" that stuff.

Didn't read all the pages.

But only Opiates and possibly Alaprozalom (xanax) cause detox issues.

Weed may give someone a slight headache if they are a daily smoker and stop for a while, but more than likely he had an opiate addiction.

hopefully this was covered, because that's what it is.

Unfortunately in this country his options are only Methadone (which is worse than heroin IMO), Sobaxin which is better but still can be abused, and cold turkey.

If I were you, I would lock him in a room with only a mattress and a bucket to puke in and a case of bottled water. Keep him there for five days.

After that he'll be fine.

We need a sarcasm font. This is sarcasm, right?

re: weed detox question

If I stopped taking something on Monday, I can piss clean Friday morning. So, depending on how you count it, that's 4-5 days.

But I'm older and I'm sure my metabolism is prob slower than it was 15 years ago.

I had a doc tell me once I pissed subs after 7-8 days. But, I believe those take a little longer, esp after prolonged use.

If you want to know about drugs then come to the OT. You just have to get past us acting like know-it-alls.

The half life of Heroin is like 2 hours, the half life of Methadone is like 4 days.

So dome stays in your system for a really long time. It is also harder to quit than Heroin.

Soboxin I am not as familiar with, but I think the cold turkey method is best.

Nothing worse than giving an addict a new addiction.

Oh look, another lemming bought into the liberal media's lies about "harmless" marijuana. When it comes to fighting this stuff, you can't believe any of the bull shite that the cartel-owned media says about these things. Why don't you explain to me how gay marriage is awesome while you're at it?

re: weed detox question

When I saw the people in rehab coming off methadone I swore I would never touch that stuff again, and I havent. They would be 3-4 weeks clean, taking subs, and still climbing the walls and sick as frick. So I just stick to subs, which I have very little issues coming off of after weaning down, when I don't have my doc.

re: weed detox question

I never got opiate addiction.

I have tried them all. I enjoy them all.

I can chew a roxy or a toot of ferl and be fine and not touch it for months or a year. I just don't see the need to do it daily.

Addiction is mental weakness, more than physical.
eta- I say Mental because I know that tingle in the back of your mind that you get when you think of the opportunity to do your drug again.
I know what its like to crave an opiate. But you don't have to give into cravings.

Once you take them two days in a row. Stop. The third day will hook you.
Personally I reserve it for occasions, or when its there. It can be used recreationally without becoming a junkie.

Do oxys daily for several years and then stop. In between shifting and puking all day and chills and flu symptoms and not sleeping for a week, get back to me on how mental that is.

I know mental is a big part, but initially, the physical part will make you wish you were dead.

I've done most every drug, many times, and opiates are the only thing that stuck. And I know a lot of very successful people, Chemical Engs, Mechanical Engs, business owners, a doctor and cpl lawyers who have nearly lost it all over opiates. Basically everyone I've ever known to take them regularly has ended up in over their head.

I meant coming off them and all opiates. Not coming off them to oxy.

It's obvious this kid has never done weed and it's something more serious like heroin/coke.

Weed isn't a gateway drug. If he was tokin, he sure wouldn't be cokin..

...or even worse. If he's a black kid, he'll start looking at white women. Then one night, late at night.....you'll hear a noise coming out of his room. You're not going to realize what it is at first........the close you get you'll start to understand what he's listening to.......

Then BAM!!........fricking jazz music. You nephew is going to start listening to jazz music.

If you don't get this kid some help fast, this jazz will start spreading. You don't want that shite in your house man. get it out as fast as you can for that jazz music is the fricking devil's noise.

This. For YEARS I could take and Vikes and Percs as much as I wanted with no issues. I would take 5-10 a day for a month, stop for a few weeks and it was super easy. Trouble didn't begin until I found the OC 80s. After 2-3 months of dabbling in those I was done for. I am a firm believer a lot of withdrawal symptoms are mental but getting off of those requires real physical withdrawals, so miserable. The best thing I ever did for myself was stop those fricking things, it was a VERY shitty 7 days though followed by about 5 more days of feeling off. It was easy after that though.
