I think $8 million is fine for a 6th man of the year candidate, but if Monty can't find a way to get RA at least 30 minutes and AD 35ish then he probably does need to go.

I'm not sure if this is available, but the 247 podcasts had proposed a Gordon and Anderson for Kevin Love and filler. Love has been rattling the cage in Minnesota from the minute he signed his contract, so it might not be that unrealistic.

Can Love and AD play together? Seems to me that they are both PFs that could play some Center in a pinch. If so I would do that deal in a heartbeat, especially if we picked, say, McLemore in the draft.

Last year Love played 38% of the center minutes for the TWolves and his PER differential at the position wasn't as good as at PF, but it was still ridiculous, 25 vs. 17. LINK I guess the real question is can he guard the Dwights, Bynums and Gasols. I don't really watch him enough to know.

The logic is very sound! To prove it, here's a really terrible analogy from a completely different sport.

Anderson has been our best player the majority of this season. With all the ineptness y'all say we have on this team, why the heck would be wanna trade this type of talent. We should be adding talent, not subtracting it. (Not that I know much about math)

Both are at their best playing PF and there are only 48 PF minutes to go around. This is one of the big reason's you've been so pissed at Monty, he's felt the need to choose between Anderson and Davis at the end of games and has often gone with Anderson. Davis still will probably get bullied in the paint for the next several years, but hopefully by next year his defensive IQ and strength will improve enough that it isn't as big of a problem. I still think the combo can work, but if it doesn't Gordon and Anderson for Love actually isn't a bad deal unless you value Gordon at his best. You'd basically be getting Gordon's cap space back and upgrading Anderson with Love. Also with Love and Davis you have 2 elite name players so maybe you can use Gordon's cap space to attract another big name.

Do you think Davis can be a C, because if not wouldn't trading for Love put us in a similar situation we're in now with your top 2 players playing PF?

You really think this could happen? I mean, don't tease me. Getting Love would be a huge coup and dumping Gordon would make it double sweet. The FA market is going to be flooded with SGs this year that will be half as expensive (or less) and almost as productive. Love weighs 250 plus and can be a bull down low. He can play with Davis for sure. I can dream..

Ok. I follow you. But I'm not getting rid of Davis, period. On another note, in hindsight, I wish Gordon woulda never hit that game winner at Phoenix that opening night. I was telling everyone that this is "the guy". Even the few other games he played that season, his skill set looked kinda unorthodox, but he looked liked the real deal. I've been longing for that dude to show up again, but other then a few games, I've been very disappointed. ( I know, injuries..blah, blah).

I said not unrealistic, so don't get your hopes up. For this to happen Love would really need to try hard to force a trade, which he really doesn't have the leverage to do, and Gordon would probably need to show a little more than he's showing now. Minnesota is talking about letting Pekovic go because they don't think he's worth $11 million, so I doubt they take on Gordon unless he rounds back into form.

You can't trade Anderson, he is the only guy on our team that can shoot the 3. He's kept us in a ton of games this year, just by his long range shooting alone. Also he is the team leader. He loves New Orleans. He is the exact type of guy you build around. As far as him and Davis and their defense, that would be a HORRIBLe reason to trade him. Davis is a 19 yr old rookie, Anderson is even new to the team and Monty's philosophy. Give it time, it will only get better. It would be totally reactionary to deal the guy because of what has occurred this year, on a team with little talent and a bunch of new players.

If we got him and Shabazz/Porter, with a healthy EG we would be legit as early as next year

Anderson is 25th on PF salary list per year and the hornets have him until 2016. There is no reason to pawn him off anytime soon. Teams make these kinds of thing work all the time, but just like in any case with a young, inexperienced, and newly put together team things take time to be figured out. But after doing some research... Anthony Davis' rookie numbers are very similar to those of Kevin Garnett. Age, size, minutes, points, rebounds, blocks are all very similar. KG even played with Christian Laettner and Laettner had very similar numbers to what Anderson has (without the 3 pointers). But the TWolves shipped Laettner off bc he didn't like all the attention being put on KG.

Pek supporter. Just checking in. Play Pek/AD/Ryno 32 minutes each at the 4/5. Trade Lopez for whatever you can get him. Draft a SF. ???? Profit

That's assuming they'd come in and have a Lilliard-type impact right away. We'd probably be in the 7-8-9 range.

I'd trade damn near everyone on the roster before I'd trade Anderson Yea, let's get rid of the only guy on the roster with a consistent jump shot That's a great plan for the future

I'm not saying there isn't a price but I wouldn't be looking to trade Anderson. We have the money to bring talent in as well as another high draft pick coming in. Let's stick to the plan folks.

You make a point, but he's pretty much the only guy on our team who can make 3-pointers on a consistent basis. He's the best shooter the Hornets have ever had, and I just don't think a trade is going to happen.
