Seems like to me we need to trade Ryan Anderson

Has one of the best contracts in the NBA, great skilled player on the court that shoots the 3, is becoming a reason why AD23 is taken out of games and possibly hindering his growth. We need to trade Ryan because he is so valuable and coveted and make other areas of our roster that much better.

He's a luxury this team can't honestly afford over the next few years.

This is not a troll attempt. The logic is very sound. What's the point of having Chris Johnson as your number 2 running back on the roster behind AP when you have a group of amateurs trying to block for them?

I don't think you're trolling but I will disagree. You don't trade good players because another good player plays his position. It's not MLB where you get say 2 legit prospects for a player of RA's caliber. We might get some depth or even a 1st round pick but that 1st round pick might mean very little. It's not the NFL where a 1st round pick is extremely valuable. Everyone likes to wonder why we drafted AR at 10 but look at what came after 10. A lot of those guys have been in the D-League or you haven't heard from them. Hell, look at some of the picks before AR.

It's simply on Monty to get his rotations straight and find a way to get the most out of both guys. Like you said, he's young, his contract is great, and we aren't in need of cap room.

Agree. Trading Anderson is a desperation move with little payoff.

Trade i have in mind would be for a talent to talent type trade. Not trading him for hopes and dreams of draft picks. We trade him for a full time talented 3 that can start for us or an equally talented 5 or whatever it'd be.

Its something I've been thinking about for awhile now, especially since I saw that stat regarding how poor the defense is with Ryno and AD on the floor.

I would do EVERYTHING I could to keep him. His contract is low, he's a great guy, and he has a unique and valuable skill set. Try to put pieces on the team that allows him to thrive in a complimentary role.

If it still doesn't work, you obviously have to consider it.

For the sake of argument, who the hell is available and who is a willing trade partner(s).

haven't done much homework on that yet but its easy to be the pessimist guy who says nobody i bring up is good enough in the trade but we've already heard many teams' desire of trading for Ryno. he would be sought after.

Why, I would never say such a thing if it isn't true.

Who would you have in mind, specifically? He's too valuable to trade straight up for a Wilson Chandler type, IMO of course. I'd rather go for Al Jefferson and Otto Porter and keep RA but that idea hasn't been well received on here so what do I know?

re: Seems like to me we need to trade Ryan Anderson
We would have to include more than RA to have a chance at any of them. Problem is, we don't have more to give. Rondo is your only PG on there and I don't think we are in a position to move GV and RA for him and I'm sure Boston would want more for him anyway. And I know you're just throwing names out for discussion purposes but I'm so damn tired of hearing Danny Granger's name. He's turning 30 next month with bad knees.

Problem being that the kinds of trades I've seen for him are by people thinking they are "doing us a favor" by taking his contract and/or represent teams with no assets.

For example, the Lakers would be a good destination for him, given that he complimented Dwight well in Orlando and D'Antoni likes guys who can shoot from downtown.

The drawbacks are that LA has jack- shite to offer us because they blew all their assets getting Nash and Howard.

They have no picks, so we'd have to choose from Metta World Peace ($7.7m), Steve Blake ($4m), Chris Duhon ($4m), Jordan Hill ($3.5m), or maybe Pau ($19m) if we sent back a huge trade exception. Not exactly what I'd want back in exchange for him.

Why don't we trade AD? He is more valuable and has more upside.

1. The backup (Anderson) has a great contract
2. His skill set is unique and valuable to this team
3. We have money to spend to fill out the rest of the roster
4. Because AD and RA don't play great together in AD's rookie year doesn't mean they won't improve next year.

There's no reason to trade Anderson.
