Before they just up and pass a bill? Dems said the Ryan plans overhaul of medicare would hurt seniors, Reps said Obamacare would be a total failure. Why doesn't the government say hey lets run a 3 year version of Ryan's plan and see if it is cheaper or if it hurts seniors? Same thing with Obamacare.

well for one thing, they all have giant egos and hate being proved wrong.
two, you just made the most compelling case for a weak federal system in favor of a strong state - essentially 50 case studies on a given subject. and god knows the one thing the feds hate worse than being proved wrong is seeding power back to the states.

I was even talking about sending it back to the state ( even though I would prefer that). They could just take a number of seniors have them try our Ryan's program and see if they like it. If seniors are hurt by it check the how the cost compare. Who knows maybe senior 65-70 might be cheaper on private insurance than medicare or maybe not. If not then we know we have to find some other way to fix it, but atleast we can mark off on option. I guess that just makes too much sense.

You are asking for laws to be judged based on their effectiveness for the electorate. This goes contrary to everything Washington is about. Laws are passed based only on the possible profit/re-election benefits they will provide for the politicians and/or special interests.

Like I said it would just make too much sense to have facts and actually stats to back up a program. Not stats pulled out from behind Obama's ears

I was referring to social programs. I think it would be more effective than pulling ideas out of their arse and wasting tax payer money.

Well they haven't tried Ryancare yet anywhere. They did try Obamacare in Massachusetts as Romneycare, where it's considered a fairly large success. They also added a law in Washington State, where no insurance company can deny insurance to an individual, but without a mandate (so no requirement to purchase insurance). This ended up being a big failure, as some people only bought insurance unless they needed it.
As a former teacher, I can say that there's lots of experiments/test programs that are tried in individual schools and districts. But, a lot of what is seen as successes or failures, or how the experiment is performed is often influenced by what's the prevailing trend in education, whether it be something like whole math, different learning styles, or testing.
