You should take a gander at the latest paper listing child sex offenders here in Tallapoosa County, and add them to your contenders list for the Papacy. It can't be coincidence these creeps all look the same.

One if the commentators on the news this morning was talking about the conclave and the assumed front runners (the list in the OP) and said something that surprised me. The Pope does not have to be elected from the Cillege if Cardinals. It is tradition that he come from the ranks of the Cardinals, and pretty much expected. However, church law states that any baptized male may be named Pope. I kind if want to find that rule to see if it specifies baptized in a RC church. If not, I may throw my hat into the ring. Anyone know where I file my candidacy papers?

Scola or Ravasi if the Italians have their way I'm hoping for Turkson or Sandri

Not really. They have to be at least 35 and have been a Bishop.

I think Father Benedict Groeschel should be a candidate. He is at least honest. LINK

Cardinal Tagle is three years younger than Pope John Paul II was when he took office. It doesn't impact me personally as I'm not Catholic. But logically a younger man who can leave his imprint on Catholicism for 20-25 years would be ideal as opposed to changing leaders every 5-10 years.

Then book it. Saban will be the next Pope.

Brackets are bad. Turkson and Tagle in the first round? They may be two of the top candidates.

I can go with some conspiracies (aliens, and that our government has actually interacted with them, JFK, 9/11, and so on) but you are putting way too much into this religion thing to tie it in with Obama. Obama is hurting this country and yes, may be out to destroy it, but it isn't with the help of the anti-christ.

I would be surprised for Tagle to get it considering he just became a cardinal last November. My "Final Four" would be Ouellet, Turkson, Scola, and Scherer.

I was just looking at various articles and there are nothing but articles of rumors that Pope Benedict is moving in with his "personal secretary" Georg Ganswein
I've read several articles, one by Andrew Sullivan that claim Benedict is probably gay. His personal secretary is called "Gorgeous George" in the Vatican. There was a priest on CNN saying over 60% of Catholic priests are gay. So it's certainly within the realm of possibility that Benedict is gay.

No shite. Also, there is one poster in this thread who I'm convinced is a liberal but really doesn't post like one even though his Avi would throw you off at first glance.
