First responders are both local and federal and as he pointed out many local do get federal money as well as your local tax dollars.

I knew people like that when I served in the Senate in the 80's. They were always owned by special interest groups, Unions, Teachers, Teamsters, UAW, Democratic Party officials, and the ACLU and Planned Parenthood. They got all their money from these groups and were owned, had no independance,VERY,VERY Liberal always. They could lie and their base was OK with it, IF you were Liberal. Never had a Republican lie to me in the 9 years I served. I caught Union guys lying every year,every session. It didn't matter if it got them what they wanted. Very selfish and dishonest. It's a the End justifies the Means attitude. Also, coming from the corrupt Chicago style politics contributes.

Of course they do, but they also get federal funds. How much, I don't know, but I would imagine it's a pretty decent chunk of change through various programs since 9/11.

It probably covers quite a few paychecks between both field personnel and trainers.
Look, I agree that these "cuts" are being blown way out of proportion, but there should be little doubt that pretty much any cut is going to cost someone their job. Whether these jobs were necessary to begin with is another debate (I think most are probably not necessary).

Firefighters, policemen and teachers are NOT funded by the federal government. You can apply for grants or aid from FEMA but you never budget for it. This is done at a local level or state level. If my department applied and got approved for a grant, then great, more money in our budget for other stuff, equipment.

Yet, there is one major difference:
Many who voted for Bush and that set of "conservatives" got pissed off and turned on them, thus helping create the Obama machine.
Democrats, on the other hand, will NEVER turn on their team no matter what. We see that now. In fact, the more blatant Obama is with his lies, the stronger his team gets defending him. It really is amazing to watch.

He was on the news yesterday and this was his quote," some people have been running around here predicting some sort of Apocolypse"! Yeah some people, you are one of them! This man is a dangerous, delusional, lunatic, and he needs to be restrained in a straight jacket before he does more harm to us.
