Michelle does not know the difference between an automatic weapon and a handgun. I seriously believe this. This is part of the problem with the gun control debate, ignorance. But the gun control advocates don't care. This is the issue du jour simply to score political points.

There is no way this was just her being dumb.
If she is going to specifically state that it was an automatic weapon, she would have to have read that it was an automatic weapon. She wouldn't just guess.
And since it wasn't an automatic weapon, she's just straight-up lying.

then why the frick is she speaking of guns? that's probably worse
what's certainly worse is that an objective media SHOULD be ripping her apart for her ignorance (in the face of speaking about the topic like this), but instead they are protecting her by editing this out

Carolyn McCarthy is perhaps the most vociferous gun-control advocate in all of Congress, and a few years ago, she exposed her abject gun ignorance in a Tucker Carlson interview, so it's not surprising that a non-politician like Michelle doesn't know these things.

Her husband, who has NO real world experience to speak of, gave his professional opinion on:
The Economy - we got the stimulus
How Doctors should treat people - We get Obamacare
The Budget - We have the current "sequestrian" crisis. Wait, that was a Republican idea
Civility - Yet lefties are still shooting up people left and right
The list goes on and on..
So, if her husband, who is literally a cult figure to those in media, can say what he wants, why not his wife?

You're just being ridiculous. I've seen members of Congress and major network news anchors make ignorant comments about guns on a number of occasions. Is every one of them lying?

But, neither should be immune to the vociferous criticisms whenever they DO say something.
She could have simply said "shot" and left it at that. SHE chose to get more specific...her specifics were incorrect....she should be called on it.
