That's part of why we aren't going to be the hornets anymore. We're starting over building a franchise. And when you start building a franchise, you start with low prices to build a fan base.

Yes, this is a tough NBA market. Always has been (there were even some issues with the Jazz). But it has been demonstrated that a successful, competitive team will put sufficient numbers of fans in the seats. I would suggest you do a more thorough analysis of attendance around the league and focus on particular markets and venues. Simply "ranking" in raw numbers doesn't really tell you the whole story.
And for the first time in franchise history, it has an owner with solid financials that knows this market. This isn't just a one or two year process. It's going to take time. That's not making excuses or avoiding the issue. It's grown up reality.

They are doing the exact same thing they did with the saints. Why us that hard to understand?
As the team becomes competitive, ticket requests will increase. The saints have a waiting list. Not saying that is going to happen, but if the Pels become a perriniel contender, it's not out of the realm of possibilities.

If you're in the lower bowl in a section next to the club seats, I'm told your price will go down or you can move to the club for the same price you paid this year. Something like that.
I'm sure weebie will consider to be the unkindest cut of all and the worst possible insult to all concerned.

If you're saying the market will only support a winner long term, duh. That's normal. What's abnormal us a team like the Clippers, Knicks and Warriors. Large markets are more supportive than small markets, but unless you plan on packing 3 teams in the biggest cities you're kind of out of large market options.

As pointed out more than once a competitive team will put buts in the seats, and lower ticket prices will help.
Ironically, perhaps, lower ticket prices actually have the potential to increase team revenues.
Why would the owners
of professional sports teams sell tickets at a price less than what they could receive to
maximize profits [according to theory]?
In a study carried out by Krautmann and Berri (2007), they attempted
to discover why owners were pricing tickets in the inelastic range of demand. They found
that franchise owners were using lower ticket prices to enlarge their non-ticket revenues.
So, in effect, they are using efficient ticket prices to attract more fans to games in order to
maximize their concession revenues inside the arena. In today's day and age fans may
pay as much as $5 for a hot dog and $8 tor a beer. If 10,000 fans purchase 1 beer and 1
hot dog a piece, that generates $130,000 per game in revenue for the club. Thus far in the
2008-2009 NBA basketball season the lowest average home attendance for any team was
12,025, accomplished by the Memphis Grizzlies. The highest average attendance of any
team was the Detroit Pistons who, on average, attract 22,076 people to every home game.
Based on these numbers, concession revenues could be much higher than the $130,000
mentioned before. These complimentary concession revenues may make up or exceed the
lost gate revenues caused by inelastic ticket pricing.
In other words, owners can make more money with lower ticket prices that put more people in the seats per game, thereby significantly increasing gameday revenue.

As was discussed above with the one who thought cheaper tickets is a sign of end times. Good find, VOR. Maybe someone will listen if someone else says it.
Also, about sponsors and promotions to move tickets: that is what most teams do when they are not winning. The Hornets have inordinately low tickets purchased by businesses...so fan support is actually a tick higher than otherwise expected, at least by those who pay attention to all the facts.
