btw, I'm going through the official channels to petition that the toonces head be taken off of our class rings in favor of the "eye" or the old helmet logo. Is anyone else in?

Its not enough to just say you have to use the football tiger head. You need to use the Bert Jones era tiger head. It is so much cleaner.

The eye is all over LSU athlete's things such as their booksacks. Why not use that as the logo? Most people associate it with LSU since it is our midfield logo and the transition should be relatively easy because it is already in the stores.

Quit hating on Toonces. The logo is just a font now. What was wrong with the font and toonces? The Florida gator head is cartoonish but that didnt stop them from kicking our arse in football last year or hurt their recruiting.. I don't understand the majority's taste of just the font logo..

Just the fact that you called that thing Toonces should say enough to you.

Which one is better?

Why can't we just use this? Why do we even need a tiger head?

Because unlike most schools, we have a live mascot, and unlike most schools with a live mascot, ours doesn't f&%king suck.

I lost my LSU class ring many years ago. When I contacted Balfour about a replacement, they told me the molds for the rings with the older Tiger head were destroyed and that only the Toonces head was available now. I told them to prepare for a lawsuit. I want a replacement, but will not buy an expensive ring with "The Toonce" on it. I'm serious about taking legal action against them. The Eye, the older Tiger head or even the LSU Geaux Font would be OK. How about giving us an option, not one choice take it or leave it.

We just need to make the tiger eye our logo and buy the song rights to Eye of the Tiger

It is indeed being phased out, and the logos and marks that were rejected we're even more atrocious, according to a few folks I have spoken to that work for athletics.

Here is what happened... LSU sneaked this in on us early 2000s. It was when we started winning again and people didnt really take notice bc the excitemtn of winning was foremost on LSU fans minds.
Not a tiger head.

Its gotta be the ugliest thing Ive ever seen.. and it prob has less than a 20% fan approval rating.
fricking thing needs to go and if the person is still employed by LSU that approved this they need to GTFO with a pink slip.

me either... if somebody bought me something with it I took my belt off, beat them a litttle with it and made them take it back to wherever they got it.
