| Anybody remember Romario? (Posted on 2/21/13 at 11:11 pm)
As a lad I remember him putting the smack down on every opponent for Brasil during the '94 world cup

The final was a snoozefest, and I got sunburnt. He´s now a senator in Brazil.

I though that tourney was pretty good in general. Mainly just remember Romario slicing through defenses and making defenders look silly

I´m talking about the final. Yeah, he was great, although in my opinion, Bebeto was more dangerous.

With the way that he kept up with his goal tally, he was destined for politics.

wasn't that world cup that basically changed the rules about gaolkeepers and backpasses? Everyone felt games were getting too defensive and boring because players kept passing back to the goalies to pick up?

77% certain that rule change had already taken place. The 1994 Cup was where I learned about soccer (and how to play) and I don't remember ever learning that.

Same here. This was the sporting event that changed my life. I started playing BRSA soon after.
