Took me a while to change myself, just out of habit. Now I find myself calling it UL more often than ULL, a name the university try's to get people NOT to use. Officially, the university wants it to be referred to as the University of Louisiana at Lafayette or UL Lafayette. Really kind of ridiculous, IMO, but I guess it is their prerogative. here is a link.

Kinda looks like there are some preemptive excuses. We dont care about midweek games, we wont throw our ace, etc. Bet if the tiggers pull out the W, there will be a lot of crowing.
Also its funny. A lot of LSu fans list bama as a rivalry. Ask a gump and they list FLA, UGA and AU as their rivals. No mention of lsu because bamma has owned that tiger ass

Tulane is a rival bc:
A) they used to be in the sec
B) they used to be very good in football
C) once upon a time they had a pretty solid baseball team too that we battled with.
Doesn't really matter that they suck now, the history between the programs is what makes it a rivalry.
ULL is not a rival bc:
A) they were never in the sec and probably never will be in my lifetime
B) they have never beat LSU in football, haven't even scored a TD against LSU
C) they had a very short run in baseball...that's it.

Thank God that's over with, at least for now. Seeing those pricks eliminate LSU in Skip's last year as coach, and within one win of Omaha, still pisses me off. The Man deserved to end his career at the CWS

Football series history:
LSU is 22-0-0, and has outscored UL-Lafayette 988-25. That is an 111-year arse whipping. Maybe that should be the rivalry name: "The 111-year arse Whipping".

Bama does not consider Fla. or Georgia a rival. There is little history between those three schools. Back in the day, Georgia Tech was a big rivalry game for Bama. Bama hated Tech more than Auburn because Bama played Tech more than they played Auburn. Before you accuse me of being wrong, you need to check your history of the schools. Bama rarely played Georgia and Florida. It was kind of like LSU rarely playing Auburn back in the day.

USL might have a rivalry with LSUA but they will never in a million years have a rivalry with LSU.

I grew up in a half bama family. I KNOW what they thought. FLA and UGA were always big rivalry games because of their relative proximity. First played UGA and FLA in the '20s. They may not have played every year but when they did it was a tear down the walls day.
The point is that bama does not consider lsu a rival even though most lsu fans think it is. IT is way too onesided and the gumps look down their nose at lsu

Get a clue. Georgia and Florida are not Bama's rival. I don't care what half your family tells you.

part of it is bc of who they are, but ULL's relative lack of standing is the only thing keeping it from being a rivalry. win a bit, be ranked every now and then, and no one will be laughing when they take the field
but they have to get ranked
