Is there some time of fuel like off-road diesel is to regular diesel? Marine fuel, from what I have used, is more expensive and typically has water in it. Can you buy it in bulk and just keep it in a tank? Always fill up with good gas at a gas station

Marine fuel is more expensive because of the marina. They can charge more because they have you by the short and curlys. It's that same gas you'd get up the road.

i can't really say it's affected me a whole lot...i still make trips alone about half the time, there aren't many things that's going to keep me off the water every weekend, unless i just absolutely can't afford it anymore

Does non-ethanol gas cost more at a land-locked gas station? I've never noticed that it does.

We should make a list of things we are doing to cut back in other areas to make up for it. We may get some ideas that we havent thought of for ourselves. My list: Drop all of my DVR boxes except for one(I had 7). Drop the healthclub and start exercising at home. Start cutting my own grass again. I was letting a nephew do it for spending money. And I changed my hours a little to be able to carpool from Walker to BR everyday with my wife.

yes, at least in my experiences, i put non ethanol at a particular gas station (1 pump) every time i go down to the spillway and it is always somewhat higher than the other 2 ethanol pumps there

I have found that it is always as smaller, family owned stations and prices can vary, but are around or near ethanol prices.

I would guess it does, not near as many tankers running around delivering. I live in NOLA so I can't even remember seeing it offered. More likely in the country/suburbs.

 i like this idea and i'm way ahead of ya,
i dropped my health club membership, started shopping around for cheaper auto insurance, also started to cook in bulk so i can eat on leftovers for awhile

Was looking into a pontoon boat this year for the kids and wife and getting on a small lease for camping and a for Wheeler. Prob won't be able to do any of that shit

I've been doing this for a long time, but it's just the way the cheap ol' man raised me.
If something around the house breaks, I don't replace it until I really really need it. For example, my daughter tried to flush a doll down my toilet. Didn't affect me, as I either pee outside or in the shower, and take my dumps at work (weekdays) or in the woods (weekends), so I didn't fix it for about 3 months. Wife wasn't really happy about going across the house during the night, but didn't bother me.
I have a vacuum sealer I put up everything with. I buy everything in bulk (if practicable) and freeze until needed. Example, the same ham or turkey you pay $6/lb for at the deli can be bought for half of that if you buy the whole ham, or a 5lb pack of sliced turkey from sams.
I try to make it a point to bring home something to eat every time I go hunting or fishing. It never pays for the trip, but it makes you feel better than getting skunked. I also take a lot more time cleaning game to get every last little piece of meat I can whittle away. Looks like buzzards and fire ants got hold to it when I'm done.
Make friends with someone retired who can hunt and fish around your schedule. Those fellas usually enjoy the company and don't mind splitting expenses. Do like I did and sell one your boat. It's a win-win situation.
I buy damn near all of the kids' clothes at resale shops. 25% of the cost, and they outgrow them way before they become rags.
I make my own laundry detergent. It sounds lame, but I make 5 gallons in 10 minutes for less than 3 dollars. Washing clothes for 5 people gets expensive if you are buying store-bought stuff.
I'll skip a meal or two before I pay $15 for a burger, I don't give a damn what kind of review the newspaper gave the place, there isn't a piece of a cow I can fit in my hand that's worth that much.
I drink Beast light instead of Miller Lite half the time now to save money. And always buy the biggest box of beer, it's more economical.
I wait until the dog or cat quits running until I shoot now. Can't afford more than one bullet per critter.
Also, $9.00/sack whole corn makes it a lot tougher to put out sacks at a time like the old days. Sweetfeed and ricebran end up being more economical where I hunt.
