I love coffee snob guy. I pretty much only drink coffee because of the Keurig. I am not going to take more than two seconds out of my morning to brew a pot when I can hit that frickin button and be on my way in a minute and have 56 different brands at my disposal. Coffee guy at my office explained that some patent ran out, which is why you are seeing so many brands of K-Cups now.

This. The only way it tastes decent to me is if I make the 4 or 6 oz cup. 8 oz or higher tastes like crap. If I want to fill the mug, I run 2 k-cups.

Exactly. You're not a coffee lover .. you're a coffee drinker.

Meh. To each their own. For 50 cents a cup ill save 5 minutes a day. Or I'll save a dollar from avoiding gas stations. I've had this thing for a couple of years and you can easily weed out the cups not as good. Not everyone has your opinion on coffee.

Corporate America runs this entire country much less coffee. Can't help you out here.

But rohan, I've had good kcup coffee as well as bad. I admit its a rip off, but its not all shitty. To me, my machine makes waaay better coffee than a regular pot. It also cost me 2 arms

Not sure how you reached this math, but according to the actual arithmetic the price per pound for K-Cups is on average about double the price for coffee used in drip or french press methods.

False. There are plenty of locally-owned, artisanal businesses in this country and more are starting up every month.

I drink K cups at work, usually taste like watered crap. I've tried many different times. Stop in Circle K and their coffee is leaps and bounds better. Keurig machine is the biggest rip off marketing invention ever.
FWIW, B-Qwik on Perkins has $.69 any size CC coffee and if didn't know already, b-qwik has one of the best coffee stations in BR area gas stations. On topic, My $20 coffee maker with built in filter tastes just as good as gas station coffee. I fill pot to 4 cups or 8 cups if GF stays over, and 2 or 4 scoops of Medium Roast CC coffee.

you've been making great points throughout this entire thread, it's too bad they are dripping in douche. there is no doubt in my mind that coffee can taste better when made using drip or french press methods. that said, k-cups have their place and that place for me is on a weekday when i'm rushing to work.

I've had some of the best coffee in the world when I went to South America 5 years ago. When you insult a k-cup user claiming they don't know what coffee tastes like, you're a snob. Omg French press!! If its beer or food yeah let's bitch. But we're talkin' about coffee. Coffee!

You're doing it wrong 1) shake the K cup to loosen the grains before inserting 2) Never select the largest size 3) run a cylinder of white vinegar through the system to clean out the scale

The machine was about 250 + tax. Got it as a last minute christmas gift for the wife a couple years ago at williamson and sonoma (think thats what its called) Makes about 6 cups a day now and like I said, I use the pod with filter and put my own coffee in it. Mainly for cost efficiency, but also because I like good coffee. The Kcups are ok from it though, I rreally like the Caribou darks roasts.

Don't let your personal problems with me stand in the way of legitimate viewpoints. Just trying to have a discussion here; any pre-conceived notions about me being a douche (for whatever reason you have) should be irrelevant.

Nothing wrong with that. I get their place and support it as long as people using them know they're essentially getting ripped off. If you're willing to pay twice the price for coffee because the convenience of saving yourself 5-10 minutes is worth it then I have no problem with that; just as long as we're transparent about it.

I fill my keurig with community coffee and it taste great to me. I do agree the k-cups are a rip off and the large brew tends to be watered down. To make up for the watered down effect I simply pack in an extra amount of community coffee into my filter. seems to work.

Did you not read the post who I was replying to? A guy who says all people who use Keurigs don't know what coffee tastes and must use sugar and creamer. Now if that's not a generalization. sounds like a snob to me. And how convenient all the coffee snobs in this thread are food and drink board regulars!

I don't think I really stood behind that idea. Different poster. And I agree with you; that's not the problem I have with the K-Cup culture.
