Watch for SNAKES....The are stirring already.That area is full of deer and turkeys as well.I took the kids riding out back and we saw 6 or 7 birds yesterday.....couldnt tell what sex though.I have seen more turkeys in the last year or so up here than I have in previous years.

Yeah we've hunted the public land around there for a long time. It was really good about 10-12 years ago, then went through several down years. But most reports are there were several good hatches in a row within the last few years.

I'm going to Missouri the second week of their season and we're thinking about adding a few extra days to catch either Kansas or Nebraska. They both seem to have a lot of public access, which would you recommend?

I've not hunted Kansas or Nebraska before. I do know that the SE section of Nebaska is absolutely covered up in turkeys and Kansas has a pile of them too. A lot of guys like hunting Indian land in Nebraska and I've had a few tell me that old fashioned knocking at the farmers door works in that area of the country too.
