This statement is incorrect. NObody will ever have the power game Nolan Ryan had at the age in which he had it. That dude was still a beast well into his 40's as far as his power game goes.

Fun Fact: The last pitch Ryan ever threw was clocked at 98 mph... with a torn ligament in his right shoulder.

Threw no hitter #s 6 & 7 at ages 43 and 44.

Beat the hell out of Robin Ventura at age 45.

I think he did okay in his later career.

And to the OP, I get what you're saying. I'd also agree that thus far, Nola has shown he has the tools to be successful. Unfortunately more times than not, that doesn't always translate to the pros.

And lets hold off on the Ryan/Koufax comparisons for right now. A lot of guys have a long way to go to get there, let alone guys that haven't thrown a single professional pitch.

Was he seriously sitting at 95 on Friday? I had no idea he had gotten to throwing that hard consistently.

Yep, consistenly topped 95 in that cold weather. Sat 92-95.

Eades is in that 92-94 range.

LSU has about 7 guys on this staff that consistenly hurl in the 90s. Sick.

Dude was juicing! I hate to burst your bubble, but every athlete who had unbelievable feats of endurance and power in the last 30 years was juicing. EVERY ONE!

Thats incredible. With his accuracy, natural movement, arm angle, and off speed pitches, if he's sitting mid-90s he'll be incredibly tough to hit. I just hope his arm stats healthy, he's struggled with injuries since high school.

This is the key. Kid will be incredibly fun to watch the next couple of years if he stays healthy. After starting in the SEC for two years and having 2 years of post season experience under his belt and refining his pitches, he is going to be something special to watch next year.

I like him more than Ranaudo simply because Nola has exceptional control and an ability to locate all of his pitches. As good as Anthony was, he had control problems and I haven't seen that at all with Nola. Nola is going to be a stud, and probably a very high pick next year.

Derek Jeter, Albert Pujols, Greg Maddux, and Griffey Jr were players who are solid and as far as I know haven't juiced. I believe they are clean.

If he stays healthy he has a chance to be the most successful pitcher at the MLB level since Ben Mc. I think he's better than Renaudo was now.
